Real-Time Simulation of Transesophageal Echocardiography

2014
In this paper we describe an approach to interactively render ultrasound images for a transesophageal echocardiogram procedure. Our prototype features an animated 3D model of a human heart that is used to synthesize virtual ultrasound images in real-time. The user can control the probe and interact with the simulator via a GUI or with a haptics device.

Aspects of Real-Time Simulation

IRE Transactions on Electronic Computers, 1958
Present day digital computers are too slow for the comprehensive real-time simulation of complex electronic systems such as those involving guided missiles. Computers appearing 2-3 years hence will be sufficiently fast for these applications. There is and will continue to be fertile application fields for analog-digital computer combinations.

Real-time Simulation of Human Musculature

Proceedings of the 11th Indian Conference on Computer Vision, Graphics and Image Processing, 2018
We present a reduced model based on position based dynamics for real-time simulation of human musculature. We demonstrate our methods on the muscles of the human arm. Co-simulation of all the muscles of the human arm allow us to accurately track the development of stresses and strains in the muscles, when the arm is moved.

Real-Time Sand Dune Simulation

Proceedings of the ACM on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques, 2023
We present a novel real-time method for simulating aeolian sand transport and dune propagation. Our method is a GPU-based extension of the Desertscapes Simulation sand propagation model to additionally capture echo dunes and obstacle interaction. We validate our method by comparing it against an existing study of echo dune evolution in a wind tunnel ...

Real‐time simulation of watery paint

Computer Animation and Virtual Worlds, 2005
AbstractExisting work on applications for thin watery paint is mostly focused on automatic generation of painterly‐style images from input images, ignoring the fact that painting is a process that intuitively should be interactive. Efforts to create real‐time interactive systems are limited to a single paint medium and results often suffer from a trade‐

Real-Time Ultrasound Imaging Simulation

Real-Time Imaging, 1998
This paper presents a commercial real-time ultrasound simulator. An ultrasound volume is constructed from real ultrasound images in an off-line pre-process. Then simulated images are generated by slicing the volume in real-time. Such images can be computed very rapidly, including a post-processing enhancement.

Real-time on-line network simulation

Fifth IEEE International Workshop on Distributed Simulation and Real-Time Applications, DS-RT 2001., 2001
Abstract: The complexity and dynamics of the Internet is driving the demand for scalable and efficient network simulation. Yet, parallelizing network simulation at packet level does not work efficiently and therefore do not scale to large number of processors because of tight synchronization between network components.

Digital real time line simulator

2002 14th International Conference on Digital Signal Processing Proceedings. DSP 2002 (Cat. No.02TH8628), 2003
Beside measurement devices and noise generators transmission lines or devices modeling the electrical behavior of these lines are required within test environments for xDSL equipment. State-of-the-art line simulators are based on passive networks or on active analog circuitry.

A real-time simulator for interventional radiology

Proceedings of the 2008 ACM symposium on Virtual reality software and technology, 2008
Interventional radiologists manipulate guidewires and catheters and steer stents through the patient's vascular system under X-ray imaging for treatment of vascular diseases. The complexity of these procedures makes training mandatory in order to master hand-eye coordination, instrument manipulation and procedure protocols for each radiologist. In this

Survey on Real-Time Crowds Simulation

2008
The simulation of human massive crowds play an important role in real-time application such as games and walkthrough system. This kind of applications can provide an immersive feeling of life into the static scene and enhance the reality of the system. In recent years, there are many significant research and techniques have been developed, mainly focus
