Some open questions in real algebraic geometry [PDF]
Many interesting problems arise on the borderline between real algebraic geometry and topology. We focus on 12 open questions. Some of them come from regulous geometry, which emerged as a subfield of real algebraic geometry less than 15 years ...

Real Nullstellensatz and sums of squares [PDF]
In this paper we highlight the foundational principles of sums of squares in the study of Real Algebraic Geometry. To this aim the article is designed as mainly a self-contained presentation of a variation of the standard proof of Real Nullstellensatz ...

Real algebraic curves on real minimal del Pezzo surfaces
The study of the topology of real algebraic varieties dates back to the work of Harnack, Klein and Hilbert in the 19th century; in particular, the isotopy type classification of real algebraic curves with a fixed degree in the real projective plane is a ...

New Directions in Real Algebraic Geometry
This workshop explored the forefront of connections of real algebraic geometry with convex analysis, combinatorics, and computational complexity. Important aspects have been promising interactions with the fields of quantum information theory, discrete ...

Some Covariants Related to Steiner Surfaces
A Steiner surface is the generic case of a quadratically parameterizable quartic surface used in geometric modeling. This paper studies quadratic parameterizations of surfaces under the angle of Classical Invariant Theory.

A stress‐normalised sensitivity metric (S = G/Y) is introduced as a materials‐level benchmark for intrinsically piezoresistive nanocomposites. By decoupling electromechanical response (G) from stiffness (Y), the framework enables direct comparison across diverse systems and clarifies design trade‐offs for wearable sensors.

Continuum Mechanics Modeling of Flexible Spring Joints in Surgical Robots
A new mechanical model of a tendon‐actuated helical extension spring joint in surgical robots is built using Cosserat rod theory. The model can implicitly handle the unknown contacts between adjacent coils and numerically predict spring shapes from straight to significantly bent under actuation forces.

Weak normalization and seminormalization in real algebraic geometry
This version contains some inaccuracies about centrality issues. A new version will appear soon.International audienceWe define the weak normalization and the seminormalization of a central real algebraic variety.

This work presents a state‐adaptive Koopman linear quadratic regulator framework for real‐time manipulation of a deformable swab tool in robotic environmental sampling. By combining Koopman linearization, tactile sensing, and centroid‐based force regulation, the system maintains stable contact forces and high coverage across flat and inclined surfaces.
