Framework for real-gas compressible reacting flows with tabulated thermochemistry

Journal of Supercritical Fluids, 2015
Combustion in liquid rocket engines happens under severe thermodynamical conditions: pressure exceeds the critical pressure of injected propellants and temperature is cryogenic. Such a situation requires an important effort of modeling: real gas effects are incorporated through cubic equations of state along with pressure-correction terms, and ...

On the global solution and interface behaviour of viscous compressible real flow with free boundaries

Nonlinearity, 2003
The author examines the free-boundary problem for viscous gas with nonlinear dependence on temperature in the equation of state. The flow expands freely from a finite domain as time evolves. First, the problem is reformulated by using Lagrangian variables.

Real Gas Effects for Compressible Nozzle Flows

Journal of Fluids Engineering, 1993
Numerical simulation of compressible nozzle flows of real gas with or without the addition of heat is presented. A generalized real gas method, using an upwind scheme and curvilinear coordinates, is applied to solve the unsteady compressible Euler equations in axisymmetric form.

A Real Ghost Fluid Method for the Simulation of Multimedium Compressible Flow

SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing, 2006
In the previous ghost fluid methods (GFMs) developed, the focus is on the definition of ghost fluid states while the pressure and velocity in the real fluid sides are taken for granted, except for the correction made to the density at the real fluid nodes next to the interface to overcome the possible problems related to overheating.
