Real-time results without real-time systems
IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 2004The data acquisition system at the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory (NSCL), Michigan State University, East Lansing, is based on commodity PC components running an unmodified Linux kernel. A commercial PCI-VME bus bridge connects the readout processors of this system to digitization hardware.

We study here the class of timed automata with a single clock which is reset at each transition. We adapt for these automata the classical results for finite automata: the Kleene Theorem, the closure under complementation and the Pumping Lemma.
