Research on Rebound Rate of Nano-Scale Admixture Wet-Mix Shotcrete

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2019
Abstract High rebound rate and low construction efficiency are outstanding problems for traditional shotcrete. To solve these problems, Nano-scale admixture (NSA) was used to prepare high performance wet-mix shotcrete. Tests of sidewall rebound rate and overall rebound rate were carried out to study the effect of NSA.

Taking the pressure off the spring: the case of rebounding smoking rates when antitobacco campaigns ceased [PDF]

open access: yesTobacco Control, 2018
Objective Smoking rates have been compared with a spring, requiring continuous downward pressure against protobacco forces, rather than a screw, which once driven down stays down. Quality antitobacco mass media campaigns put downward pressure on smoking rates.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Predictions of time to HIV viral rebound following ART suspension that incorporate personal biomarkers.

open access: yesPLoS Computational Biology, 2019
Antiretroviral therapy (ART) effectively controls HIV infection, suppressing HIV viral loads. Suspension of therapy is followed by rebound of viral loads to high, pre-therapy levels.

Experimental Study on the Variation Law of Excess Pore Water Pressure at the Bottom of the Foundation Pit for Excavation

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2020
The excavation unloading of deep foundation pits in soft soil areas often produces negative excess pore water pressure. The rebound deformation of soil on the excavation surface of the foundation pit can be predicted reliably through the accurate ...

Relationship between latent and rebound viruses in a clinical trial of anti-HIV-1 antibody 3BNC117. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
A clinical trial was performed to evaluate 3BNC117, a potent anti-HIV-1 antibody, in infected individuals during suppressive antiretroviral therapy and subsequent analytical treatment interruption (ATI).

Rebounds of deformed cavitation bubbles

open access: yes, 2018
Presented here are experiments clarifying how the deformation of cavitation bubbles affects their rebound. Rebound bubbles carry the remaining energy of a bubble following its initial collapse, which dissipates energy mainly through shock waves, jets ...

Finite element modelling and experimental study of oblique soccer ball bounce [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this study, we develop a finite element model to examine the oblique soccer ball bounce. A careful simulation of the interaction between the ball membrane and air pressure in the ball makes the model more realistic than analytical models, and helps us

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Changes in perioperative blood group antibody of 33 type-A/B recipients in ABO-incompatible kidney transplantation

open access: yesZhongguo shuxue zazhi
Objective To statistically analyze the perioperative results of patients with ABO-incompatible kidney transplantation (ABOi-KT), in order to explore the changes in blood group antibody of type-A/B recipients.
