Movement Detection Using A Reciprocal Received Signal Strength Model

open access: yesICASSP 2021 - 2021 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2021
Received signal strength measurements of commodity radios can be utilized for sensing the surrounding environment. This work harnesses the signal strength measurements for estimating time periods when a person is stationary and moving. A novel reciprocal signal strength model is presented, and an energy detector is developed.

Indoor localization using received signal strength

open access: yes2013 8th IEEE Design and Test Symposium, 2013
A comparison between two indoor localization algorithms using received signal strength is carried out. The first algorithm is the vector algorithm; the second is the matrix algorithm. The comparison considered the effects of the reference points, the access point, and the frequency on the accuracy of the localization process.

High Coverage Camera-assisted Received Signal Assisted Algorithm in Indoor Visible Light Positioning Systems

open access: yesGuangtongxin yanjiu, 2022
This paper proposes a novel Non-linear Camera Assisted-Received Signal Strength (nCA-RSS) algorithm. The basic idea of nCA-RSS is to simultaneously utilize camera and Photo-Diode (PD) to capture visual information and signal strength information to ...

Robust Differential Received Signal Strength-Based Localization [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2017
Source localization based on signal strength measurements has become very popular due to its practical simplicity. However, the severe nonlinearity and non-convexity make the related optimization problem mathematically difficult to solve, especially when the transmit power or the path-loss exponent (PLE) is unknown.

Localization of Partial Discharge by Using Received Signal Strength [PDF]

open access: yes2018 2nd URSI Atlantic Radio Science Meeting (AT-RASC), 2018
The term partial discharge (PD) refers to a partial breakdown in an insulator which bridges two conductors. PD occurs due to insulation defects which arise as a result of high voltage stresses or insulation cracks. Continuous monitoring of PD activity can have a significant impact towards mitigating catastrophic failures. In recent times, it has become
