Pn‐Wave Receiver Function

Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth
AbstractThe receiver function (RF) method is the most widely adopted method for imaging crustal structures using earthquake data. Through attenuation during long‐distance propagation, high‐frequency components are scarce in teleseismic waveforms, resulting in low‐frequency RFs and low‐resolution crustal images.

Adrenal function in patients receiving medroxyprogesterone acetate

Contraception, 1974
Abstract Adrenal and pituitary function studies consisting of ACTH stimulation and SU-4885 tests were performed on ten patients before and during medroxyprogesterone acetate injections for one year. Plasma cortisols and urinary excretion rates of 17-ketosteroid and 17-ketogenic steroids were measured before and during the test.

Sexual function in women receiving maintenance dialysis

Hemodialysis International, 2010
AbstractWhile substantial attention has been paid to the issue of sexual dysfunction in men on chronic dialysis, less is known about this problem in women with end‐stage renal disease. We sought to assess sexual dysfunction in women on chronic dialysis and determine whether patients discuss this problem with their providers and receive treatment.

Liver-function tests in patients receiving iproniazid

The American Journal of Digestive Diseases, 1959
Elevations in SGPT may occur in mentally sick patients receiving iproniazid, but they do not foreshadow the inevitable development of liver disease in spite of continued administration of the drug.

Granulocyte Function in Patients Receiving Lithium Carbonate

1980
Phagocytic cells provide protection against a wide variety of microbial pathogens. A depletion of polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNs) below a critical number (Bodey et al., 1966) and/or abnormality in their cellular function (Quie, 1975) is associated with serious infection.

Receiver Function Inversion Using Genetic Algorithms

Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America, 2012
Abstract The H‐Kappa (H‐ κ ) stacking algorithm is an important tool to stack receiver functions and thus help determine crustal thickness (H) and crustal P ‐wave to S ‐wave velocity ratio ( κ ). To determine these crustal parameters, the H‐ κ stacking algorithm makes use of a direct search method by assuming some reasonable values for weights ...

Monitoring Cardiac Function in Patients Receiving Doxorubicin

Seminars in Nuclear Medicine, 2005
Despite its well-known cardiotoxicity, doxorubicin continues to be an effective and widely used antineoplastic agent. Many efforts have focused on understanding the mechanism of doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity and on preventing it completely. Currently protective agents, eg, liposomal doxorubicin formulation, which results in less myocardial uptake,

Ready-Mode Receive: An Optimized Receive Function for MPI

2002
This paper describes an extension to the MPI Standard that offers the potential to increase performance for receiving messages. This extension, the ready-mode receive, is the receive-side equivalent of the ready-mode send. This paper describes the semantics of this new receive function and discusses the potential for performance improvement that it ...
