Negative Effects of Recency Even following Recall after Filled Delay

open access: yes, 1986
It has been suggested that in a second unexpected recall information can only come from a longer term score which the more recent items have less chance of reaching and this leads to a negative effect of within-list recency for this second recall ...

Short-term plasticity influences episodic memory recall: an interplay of synaptic traces in a spiking neural network model

open access: yesScientific Reports
We investigated the interaction of episodic memory processes with the short-term dynamics of recency effects. This work takes inspiration from a seminal experimental work involving an odor-in-context association task conducted on rats.

Availability bias and heterogeneity in saliency, recency, and frequency of promotions for plant-based foods: a naturalistic observation

open access: yesFrontiers in Behavioral Economics
Availability bias influences decisions by how readily certain events, objects, or people can be brought to mind. This “out of sight, out of mind” effect depends on whether these elements are present during decision-making.

Liver organoids: modelling complexity in homeostasis and disease

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Studying liver in vitro has been challenging because simple 2D cell cultures fail to capture liver's cellular and architectural complexity. To bridge this gap, scientists increasingly use organoids, 3D liver models which better mimic liver composition and function. This review examines recent advances in liver organoid complexity and realism, discusses

Effect of Recall Order on Long-Term Recency

open access: yes, 1989
The effect of recall order on long-term recency effects in the continuous-distractor paradigm was investigated. Each list contained a series of pairs, each of a word and a number.

Epigenetic reprogramming of lineage switching in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cancer cells rarely commit to a single identity. Epigenetic mechanisms and tumor microenvironment cues push epithelial cells toward flexible, hybrid states that can shift into mesenchymal, neuroendocrine, or stem‐like fates, driving metastasis, drug resistance, and tumor heterogeneity. Targeting the epigenetic regulators behind these transitions, using

Session Based Click Features for Recency Ranking

open access: yes, 2010
Recency ranking refers to the ranking of web results by accounting for both relevance and freshness. This is particularly important for "recency sensitive" queries such as breaking news queries.

The microbiome in human skin aging

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐related skin changes encompass the well‐known visible phenotypic alterations, together with microbiome dysbiosis and a series of molecular aging hallmarks. These hallmarks characterize not only a fully stablished aged phenotype but also the skin aging process itself.

Autophagy and mitophagy in pancreatic β‐cell homeostasis and their involvement in diabetes pathophysiology

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review focuses on the role of autophagy and mitophagy in maintaining pancreatic β‐cell function and homeostasis. We discuss how genetic defects affecting these pathways contribute to the development of type 1, type 2, monogenic, and gestational diabetes. We further explore their potential as therapeutic targets. Created in BioRender.

Golgi enzymes are retrieved from the plasma membrane to the trans‐Golgi network

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Golgi enzymes are traditionally considered resident proteins retained within the Golgi apparatus. Here, we demonstrate that a subset transiently reaches the cell surface and is subsequently retrieved to the trans‐Golgi network via retrograde transport. Using a nanobody‐based toolkit, we uncover a dynamic trafficking cycle of several Golgi enzymes.
