A role for accumbal glycine receptors in modulation of dopamine release by the glycine transporter-1 inhibitor Org25935

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychiatry, 2011
Accumbal glycine modulates basal and ethanol-induced dopamine levels in the nucleus accumbens (nAc) as well as voluntary ethanol consumption. Also, systemic administration of the glycine transporter-1 inhibitor Org25935 elevates dopamine levels in nAc ...

Xerogel Films with Ordered Silica Nanorods Enable Fine‐Tuned Polarized Structural Colors in Modular Nanocomposite Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Xerogel films with aligned silica nanorods are prepared through a facile stretching and air‐drying approach. By controlling the alignment of silica nanorods and configuring multilayer film stacks, vibrant and tunable polarized structural colors with hues including green and orange are achieved.

Probing Cortical Sites of Antipsychotic Drug Action with in vivo Receptor Imaging

open access: yesBehavioural Neurology, 2000
Imaging receptors using radioactive ligands has allowed direct determination of the sites of action of antipsychotic drugs. Initial studies relating antipsychotic drug efficacy to action at striatal dopamine D2-like receptors have recently been ...

Upconversion‐Based Remote Deep Brain Modulation for Therapeutic Dissection of Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, EarlyView.
An upconversion‐based wireless optogenetic strategy enables an all‐optical deep brain modulation solution for treating Parkinson's disease in rodent animals without using electronics or any tethered cables, providing experimental evidence supporting a therapeutic mechanism of STN‐DBS by disruption of anterograde signal transmission along the indirect ...

Heteroreceptor complexes and their allosteric receptor-receptor interactions in the central nervous system. Focus on examples from Dopamine D2 and Serotonin 5-HT1a receptors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
GPCR interacting proteins (specially β- arrestin) and their receptor-protein interactions are also covered but their interactions with the allosteric receptor-receptor interactions in heteroreceptor complexes remain to be elucidated.

Synaptic enrichment and dynamic regulation of the two opposing dopamine receptors within the same neurons

open access: yeseLife
Dopamine can play opposing physiological roles depending on the receptor subtype. In the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster, Dop1R1 and Dop2R encode the D1- and D2-like receptors, respectively, and are reported to oppositely regulate intracellular cAMP ...
