Animal medical systems from Apis to apes: history, recent advances and future perspectives

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Animal medical systems encompass a wide range of behaviours aimed at maintaining or improving health. It has become clear that these behaviours are not limited to animals treating themselves (self‐medication) but also include the treatment of group members, resulting in the adoption of the more inclusive term “animal medication”.

Impact of Prior Intravenous Immunoglobulin and Plasmapheresis on Eculizumab or Ravulizumab Treatment for Generalized Myasthenia Gravis: An Analysis of the MG SPOTLIGHT Registry

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Neuroimmunology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective The complement component 5 inhibitor therapies (C5ITs) eculizumab and ravulizumab are approved for the treatment of generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG). We evaluated the real‐world effectiveness and safety of eculizumab and ravulizumab in patients with gMG with or without prior intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) or plasma exchange ...

Examining the Likelihood of Being Referred to the Child Welfare Services in Sweden: Influences at the Individual, Peer and School‐Area Levels

open access: yesChild &Family Social Work, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In Sweden, both maltreatment and behavioural problems are indicative of needs that motivate interventions from child welfare services (CWS). However, the likelihood of being referred to CWS can be influenced by other than indicative factors on individual, peer and school‐area levels.

KYNA Ameliorates Hepatic Ischemia–Reperfusion Injury by Activating the Hippo Signalling Pathway via FTO‐Dependent m6A Demethylation of LATS1

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
Our study elucidates the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying KYNA's protective effects against HIRI. It emphasises that KYNA modulates the methylation status of the Hippo signalling pathway through the activation of AHR, thereby mitigating damage by promoting LATS1 degradation and facilitating the nuclear translocation of YAP. ABSTRACT Hepatic
