High‐purity X‐ray polarimetry at high energies for Mössbauer spectroscopy
This work extends high‐purity X‐ray polarimetry into the 15–30 keV range, enabling polarization‐filtered synchrotron Mössbauer spectroscopy of higher‐energy nuclear resonances. A proof‐of‐principle experiment at 22.494 keV demonstrates a polarization purity of (1.2 ± 0.5) × 10−8, establishing the feasibility of the approach.High‐purity X‐ray ...

Bovine and Porcine Somatotropin [PDF]
Among the more recent biological tools being proposed and studied for dairy and swine management programs is somatotropin (growth hormone or GH). Advocates claim that somatotropin improves efficiency and thus decreases the cost of production in dairy ...

Distinct pharmacological and functional properties of NMDA receptors in mouse cortical astrocytes [PDF]
Background and purpose Astrocytes of the mouse neocortex express functional NMDA receptors which are not blocked by Mg2+ions. However, study of the pharmacological profile of glial NMDARs and their subunit composition is far from complete ...

Abstract This paper investigates the role of semantic features of noun and adjective bases in determining the grammatical behaviour of Ancient Greek denominal and deadjectival verbs in *‐ye/o‐. The paper adopts a lexicalist framework (Rappaport Hovav & Levin 1998) and examines how the event schema, actionality, telicity and voice of derived verbs are ...

Opioids and Their Receptors [PDF]
The interest in opioids such as morphine, the prototypical opioid ligand, has been maintained through the years. The identification of endogenous opioids and their receptors (mu, delta, kappa, and nociceptin), molecular cloning, and the elucidation of ...

ABSTRACT This article explores Australian media commentary on white Rhodesians migrating to Australia, focusing on the period of Malcolm Fraser's prime ministership (1975–1983). The main argument is that the Australian media debates about whether to classify white Rhodesians as ‘migrants’ or ‘refugees’ were not merely semantic but reflected a deeper ...

RP94-529 Porcine Somatotropin (pST) [PDF]
What is porcine somatotropin (pST)? Porcine somatotropin, abbreviated as pST, is a growth hormone naturally produced in pigs. The word porcine refers to pigs, and the word somatotropin means body growth and refers to the name of the hormones.

Soft Tissue Substitutes: Current Biomaterials and Indications at Teeth and Implant Sites
This manuscript provides an updated overview of the current evidence on soft tissue graft substitutes for teeth and dental implants. When appropriately indicated, these biomaterials offer a reliable, less invasive alternative to autogenous grafts, effectively improving root coverage, keratinized mucosa width, and soft tissue thickness with reduced ...

The treatment of adults with GH deficiency (GHD) with human recombinant growth hormone has interindividual variability and several factors influence it. The aims of this study were : 1-to analyze the GH receptor (GHR) genotype in terms of exon 3 deletion GHR (d3-GHR) in adults with GHD; 2-to assess the effects of d3-GHR on initial IGF-I levels; 3-to ...
