Urinary alcohol and ethyl glucuronide as a screening tool for alcohol use in pregnancy: A multicenter prospective study

In this objective, anonymous study of 1053 women attending their first antenatal appointment, a surprisingly low percentage (0.38%) contained ethyl glucuronide (EtG), a metabolite of alcohol. Amyloid‐β aggregates induce vasculopathy via ferroptosis in brain endothelial cells

Blood–brain barrier (BBB) disruption is evident in brains with amyloidopathy. In this study, we demonstrate that amyloid β (Aβ) drives abnormal lipid metabolism and lipid droplet formation in brain endothelial cells, leading to lipid peroxidation and ferroptosis.
