Staying alive: a docking station for autonomous robot recharging
Proceedings 2002 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (Cat. No.02CH37292), 2003Autonomous mobile robots are constrained in their long-term functionality due to a limited on-board power supply. Typically, rechargeable batteries are utilized that may only provide a few hours of peak usage before recharging is necessary. Recharging requires a robot to be taken offline, and attached to a battery charger via human intervention.

Charging base Stations Deployment Algorithms for Wireless Rechargeable Sensor Networks
2019 IEEE Wireless Power Transfer Conference (WPTC), 2019One of the important problems in wireless rechargeable sensor networks is the deployment of charging base stations. Based on a convergent charging scheme, two new algorithms are proposed, by combining the solution of the Fermat point problem with the advantages of the greedy algorithm.

Patrolling Strategy for Multiple UAVs with Recharging Stations in Unknown Environments
2019 Latin American Robotics Symposium (LARS), 2019 Brazilian Symposium on Robotics (SBR) and 2019 Workshop on Robotics in Education (WRE), 2019One of the primary concerns related to Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), especially multirotors, is the limited endurance to perform patrolling missions in large scale applications. The use of recharging stations spread throughout the area of interest is an alternative to prolong the total mission execution time.
