Adaptive learning-based recoil control for deepwater drilling riser systems

Ocean Engineering, 2023
This paper deals with the adaptive learning based recoil suppression control problem of deepwater drilling riser systems subject to parametric perturbations, platform heave motion, and friction resistance force of drilling fluid discharge. First, a stochastic configuration network based approximator is presented to predict the friction resistance force

Discrete recoil control system modelling and optimal recoil damping of deepwater drilling riser systems

Ocean Engineering
This study addresses discrete dynamic modelling and the optimal recoil control problem of deepwater drilling riser systems subject to the friction resistance of fluid discharge and platform heave motion. First, a discrete-time exosystem model for friction resistance of drilling fluid discharge is developed; then, a discrete-time dynamic model of ...

Recoil control of deepwater drilling riser systems via optimal control with feedforward mechanisms

Ocean Engineering, 2022
This paper deals with the problem of dynamic modeling and the optimal recoil control of a deepwater drilling riser system subject to the friction force of drilling fluid discharge. First, based on the whole fluid column model of the friction force and the curve fitting method, a linear exosystem model is established to describe the dynamic properties ...

Investigation on controllability of a Magnetorheological gun recoil damper

2009 International Conference on Information and Automation, 2009
Its primary purpose of this study is to provide a comprehensive investigation on the controllability of a Magnetorheological (MR) gun recoil damper. Performances of MR damper under random load, mainly in the transportation applications, seismic protection in civil engineering and wind-rain-induced load in Cable Bridge, have been well investigated by ...

Optimal Control of Gun Recoil Using Magnetorheological Dampers

Volume 2: Mechanics and Behavior of Active Materials; Integrated System Design and Implementation; Bio-Inspired Materials and Systems; Energy Harvesting, 2012
Optimal control of a gun recoil absorber is investigated for minimizing recoil loads and maximizing rate of fire. A multi-objective optimization problem was formulated by considering the mechanical model of the recoil absorber employing a spring and a magnetorheological (MR) damper.

Detection and Control of Bubble Entrapment During the Recoil Phase of Droplet Impact

2020 IEEE 33rd International Conference on Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS), 2020
In this paper, we report a method to detect the formation of bubble during the recoil phase of droplet impact on a (super-)hydrophobic surface using a MEMS-based acoustic sensor. We show that by this method, not only the occurrence of bubble entrapment can be detected but also the size of the bubble can be measured from the frequency of the oscillation

Notice of Retraction: Research for fuzzy control system of recoil tension

2011 Second International Conference on Mechanic Automation and Control Engineering, 2011
According to researches recoil tension about automatic control system, through the current regulator to control the system. Not only keep the dynamic and static better, but also make interference immunity better. It avoids the shape tower in the process of recoiling, so it can accomplish rather better control result, satisfy the request of customers.
