An adaptable computer control system for the Daresbury Recoil Separator
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 1986Abstract This paper describes a computer system for the setting and control of all the magnets and high voltage supplies of a many element spectrometer using an LSI11/23 running RT11 with CAMAC input/output. Magnetic field strengths are measured by an inexpensive and easily constructed system of Hall probes and temperature transducers.

Effect of Mud Shedding on Riser Anti-Recoil Control at Emergency Disconnect
Volume 3: Pipeline and Riser Technology, 2012With drilling capability extends to water depths up to 3000m, significantly increased is the risk associated with a failed riser recoil control in the event of an emergency riser disconnect due to loss of vessel station keeping. In deeper waters the tensioner system undertakes higher top tension due to the accumulation of riser length and mud weight ...

An Anti-recoil Force Attitude Control Scheme of UAV for Insulator Washing
2020 Chinese Automation Congress (CAC), 2020In this paper, a nonlinear robust attitude control method for unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) is proposed based on backstepping. First, the dynamic equations of UAV are established according to its motion model. Second, the momentum theorem and the Bernoulli equation are applied to model the recoil force.

Parameter monitoring and control system of Dubna Gas-Filled Recoil Separator
Physics of Particles and Nuclei Letters, 2010A modified integrated parameter-monitoring and control system for experiments on the synthesis of superheavy nuclei at the U-400 cyclotron of the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions is considered. Experiments on the irradiation of heavy actinide targets were performed at the Dubna Gas-Filled Recoil Separator (DGFRS) [1].

Optimal control of gun recoil in direct fire using magnetorheological absorbers
Smart Materials and Structures, 2014Optimal control of a gun recoil absorber is investigated for minimizing recoil loads and maximizing rate of fire. A multi-objective optimization problem was formulated by considering the mechanical model of the recoil absorber employing a spring and a magnetorheological (MR) damper.

Gain stabilization control system of the upgraded magnetic proton recoil neutron spectrometer at JET
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2009Burning plasma experiments such as ITER and DEMO require diagnostics capable of withstanding the harsh environment generated by the intense neutron flux and to maintain stable operating conditions for times longer than present day systems. For these reasons, advanced control and monitoring (CM) systems will be necessary for the reliable operation of ...

A quantum mechanical treatment of the photofragment angular momentum polarization following photodissociation of diatomic molecules is presented. This treatment extends that of Siebbeles et al. [J. Chem. Phys. 100, 3610 (1994)] by considering photodissociation of a molecule whose angular momentum is polarized in the laboratory frame, and also treats ...
