Investigation into the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of recombinant human interferon alfa-2b vaginal suppository following process optimization in chinese rhesus macaque

open access: yesScientific Reports
Recombinant human interferon Alfa-2b vaginal suppository is a gynecological preparation mainly made of interferon, commonly used to treat diseases related to viral infections such as cervical erosion. As a recombinant protein drug, it is important to pay

Controlling sap-sucking insect pests with recombinant endophytes expressing plant lectin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We developed a novel pest management strategy, which uses endophytes to express anti-pest plant lectins. Fungal endophyte of Chaetomium globosum YY-11 with anti-fungi activities was isolated from rape seedlings, and bacterial endophytes of SJ-10 ...

PARP inhibitors elicit distinct transcriptional programs in homologous recombination competent castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

NF-κB as the main node of resistance to receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors in triple-negative breast cancer

open access: yesTumor Biology, 2017
Graphical abstract Although accounting for merely a minute portion of diagnosed breast cancers, disproportionate number of deaths and associated low survival rate of patients have made triple-negative breast cancer to be considered as the most lethal ...

Poly(hydroxyalkanoate) production by Cupriavidus necator from fatty waste can be enhanced by phaZ1 inactivation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
PHA production from waste oils or fats requires microorganisms that should be both excellent PHA producers and equipped with enzymatic activities allowing hydrolysation of triglycerides.

Norovirus recombination

open access: yesJournal of General Virology, 2007
RNA recombination is a significant driving force in viral evolution. Increased awareness of recombination within the genusNorovirusof the familyCalicivirushas led to a rise in the identification of norovirus (NoV) recombinants and they are now reported at high frequency.

PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

FASTMAP—a flexible and scalable immunopeptidomics pipeline for HLA- and antigen-specific T-cell epitope mapping based on artificial antigen-presenting cells

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
The study of peptide repertoires presented by major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules and the identification of potential T-cell epitopes contribute to a multitude of immunopeptidome-based treatment approaches.

Pichia pastoris-Expressed Bivalent Virus-Like Particulate Vaccine Induces Domain III-Focused Bivalent Neutralizing Antibodies without Antibody-Dependent Enhancement in Vivo

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2018
Dengue, a significant public health problem in several countries around the world, is caused by four different serotypes of mosquito-borne dengue viruses (DENV-1, -2, -3, and -4). Antibodies to any one DENV serotype which can protect against homotypic re-
