Recombination phenomena in high efficiency silicon solar cells [PDF]

open access: yes
The dominant recombination phenomena which limit the highest efficiency attainable in silicon solar cells under terrestrial sunlight are reviewed. The ultimate achievable efficiency is limited by the two intrinsic recombination mechanisms, the interband ...

Diffusion controlled initial recombination

open access: yes, 1998
This work addresses nucleation rates in systems with strong initial recombination. Initial (or `geminate') recombination is a process where a dissociated structure (anion, vortex, kink etc.) recombines with its twin brother (cation, anti-vortex, anti ...

Tracking HIV-1 recombination to resolve its contribution to HIV-1 evolution in natural infection

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
Recombination in HIV-1 is well documented, but its importance in the low-diversity setting of within-host diversification is less understood. Here we develop a novel computational tool (RAPR (Recombination Analysis PRogram)) to enable a detailed view of ...

Stabilized Intermediate Phase Via Pseudo‐Halide Anions Toward Highly Efficient and Light‐Soaking Stable Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 12, March 18, 2025.
The formate pseudo‐halide anion is strategically introduced at the buried interface to stabilize the intermediate phases formed during perovskite crystallization. The controlled crystallization enhances crystallinity and alleviates tensile strain, eliminating residual PbI2 near the buried interface.

Recombinations to the Rydberg States of Hydrogen and Their Effect During the Cosmological Recombination Epoch

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper we discuss the effect of recombinations to highly excited states (n > 100) in hydrogen during the cosmological recombination epoch. For this purpose, we developed a new ODE solver for the recombination problem, based on an implicit Gear's ...

Hydrogel‐Based Photothermal‐Catalytic Membrane for Efficient Cogeneration of Freshwater and Hydrogen in Membrane Distillation System

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents an overview of the PTC‐VMD system for water‐hydrogen co‐generation. a) Illustration of the hydrogel‐based PTC membrane and the co‐generation of water and hydrogen. b) Structure of the PTC‐VMD system and the functions of each component layer.

Advanced Three Level Approximation for Numerical Treatment of Cosmological Recombination

open access: yes, 2011
New public numerical code for fast calculations of the cosmological recombination of primordial hydrogen-helium plasma is presented. The code is based on the three-level approximation (TLA) model of recombination and allows us to take into account some ...

RECOMBINATION AND INTRINSICALITY [PDF]

open access: yesRatio, 2008
AbstractIn this paper I argue that warrant for Lewis’ principle of recombination presupposes warrant for a combinatorial analysis of intrinsicality, which in turn presupposes warrant for the principle of recombination. This, I claim, leads to a vicious circularity: warrant for neither doctrine can get off the ground.
