Self-Feeding Turbulent Magnetic Reconnection on Macroscopic Scales
Within a MHD approach we find magnetic reconnection to progress in two entirely different ways. The first is well-known: the laminar Sweet-Parker process. But a second, completely different and chaotic reconnection process is possible.

On the Verge of Exclusion: The Unique Psychological Profile of the Threat of Social Exclusion
ABSTRACT Past research, often using Cyberball—an online ball‐tossing game with two or more preprogrammed players—showed that being socially excluded produces various negative emotions and lower need satisfaction. However, in everyday life, people may experience the threat of social exclusion more frequently than actual exclusion. Across two experiments

Unraveling the Trigger Mechanism of Explosive Reconnection in Partially Ionized Solar Plasma
Plasmoid instability usually accounts for the onset of fast reconnection events observed in astrophysical plasmas. However, the measured reconnection rate from observations can be one order of magnitude higher than that derived from magnetohydrodynamic ...

Programmable crack dynamics engineering enables flexible strain sensors with high linearity
First‐decoupling theoretical framework of crack evolution elucidating the control methods, mechanistic insights, and structure‐activity relationships is established. Crack propagation from uncontrollable randomness systematically evolves into spatially ordered states.

An Analytical Model of Reconnection Rate in Electron-only Reconnection
Modeling the reconnection rate of collisionless electron-only reconnection presents a theoretical challenge. Unlike traditional magnetic reconnection with ion coupling, electron-only reconnection has a higher reconnection rate due to the magnetic flux ...

In this study, a multicomponent synergistic strategy is utilized, which capitalizes on the “intersection” of multiple functional influencing factors to achieve the successful development of a multifunctional hydrogel. Through the construction of a unique three‐dimensional dynamic cross‐linked network, the material combines mechanical strength ...
