Fuzzy record values

Soft Computing, 2017
In this paper, the authors propose a method to assign a crisp random variable (or sometimes two r.v.) to a fuzzy random variable. A fuzzy random variable is a measurable function whose values are triangular fuzzy numbers. This approach is illustrated with examples. It is also shown how it works on a fuzzy data set.

Some reliability aspects of record values using quantile functions

Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 2023
In some experiments such as stress testing and industrial quality control experiments, only values which are larger or smaller than all previous ones are observed. Study of such extremes are of great importance.

Weighted extropies and past extropy of order statistics and k-record values

Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 2021
In addition to entropy, extropy - the complementary dual of entropy has also gained importance as a measure of information in many areas. Extropy of order statistics, record values and mixed systems, residual extropy properties of k record values, past ...

Inferences on the performance index of Weibull distribution based on k-record values

Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, 2021
Process capability indices are used to measure the performance of a process in the manufacturing industry. This paper derives inferences for the lifetime performance index using k -record values when the lifetime of products has a Weibull distribution ...

Testing symmetry based on the extropy of record values

, 2021
In this paper, we first present the symmetric property of the extropy of record values and some characterisations of exponential distributions. Then a new test for symmetry of the continuous distribution is proposed based on a characterisation result ...

The Value of Data Records

Review of Economic Studies, 2023
Abstract Many e-commerce platforms use buyers’ personal data to intermediate their transactions with sellers. How much value do such intermediaries derive from the data record of each single individual? We characterize this value and find that one of its key components is a novel externality between records, which arises when the ...
