Scalar Diffraction by Rectangular Apertures in a Thick Screen

Journal of Modern Optics, 1995
Abstract The problem of diffraction by apertures in a thin screen lends itself to a relatively simple theoretical treatment and for this reason thick screens have not been given the same attention. This paper presents a rigorous study of the case with two rectangular apertures in a thick screen.

Diffraction of a dipole field by a rectangular screen

IEEE MTT/ED/AP West Ukraine Chapter DIPED - 97. Direct and Inverse Problems of Electromagnetic and Acoustic Theory (IEEE Cat. No.97TH8343), 2002
The author uses the uniform geometrical theory of diffraction to derive an asymptotic solution of the three-dimensional diffraction problem of an arbitrarily oriented electric dipole field by an ideally conducting rectangular screen. The amplitude directive patterns are calculated and analysed for the orthogonal field components of the investigated ...

Total analysis of radiation characteristics of electric dipole with rectangular screen

4th International Conference on Antenna Theory and Techniques (Cat. No.03EX699), 2004
On the basis of the uniform geometric diffraction theory method, an asymptotic solution is obtained for the 3D radiation problem of an arbitrarily oriented electric dipole placed near an infinitely thin perfectly conducting rectangular screen. The radiation patterns and the back-to-front ratio, the radiation resistance and the directive gains of the ...

Mitigation of liquid sloshing in a rectangular tank due to slotted porous screen

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part M: Journal of Engineering for the Maritime Environment, 2020
Liquid sloshing inside a tank with a slotted porous screen at the center is studied based on numerical and experimental methods. Slotted screens with three different porosities (0.0964, 0.1968 and 0.3022) for two submergence depths of 1 and 2 cm have been considered.

The horizontal amplitude screening effects of a rectangular strip in-filled trench

Journal of the Chinese Institute of Engineers, 2013
The horizontal amplitude screening effects of an in-filled trench are solved using the boundary element method in the frequency domain. Dimensionless parametric studies are performed to assess the screening effects of the trench in terms of the geometry, in-filled material, foundational embedment, and shear wave velocity ratio of the in-filled material

A Galerkin method for the numerical analysis of diffraction by a rectangular screen

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1999
A novel numerical analysis of acoustic diffraction by a rectangular screen is described. The boundary integral model of the system is solved by a Galerkin method using as a basis the scaling functions of discrete wavelet theory. The use of scaling functions enables the quadruple integrals in the Galerkin method to be analytically reduced to double ...

Gains of electric dipole arbitrarily oriented and placed above the rectangular screen

DIPED - 2001. Proceedings of 6th International Seminar/Workshop on Direct and Inverse Problems of Electromagnetic and Acoustic Wave Theory (IEEE Cat. No.01TH8554), 2002
Using the uniform geometrical theory of diffraction algorithms and computer codes for calculating and analyzing the directive power gain of the electric dipole arbitrarily oriented and placed above an ideally conducting rectangular plane screen were worked out.

Plane wave reflection from a rectangular-mesh ground screen

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1973
The theory of scattering of electromagnetic plane waves of arbitrary incidence and polarization from an infinite rectangular-mesh ground screen is treated. The screen is composed of thin wires of circular cross section, and is parallel to the interface between two homogeneous media.

Parameters of jets out of rectangular nozzles when they are free or near a screen

Fluid Dynamics, 1979
The results are given of an experimental determination of the parameters of jets out of rectangular nozzles. The distributions of the mean velocity and an impurity concentration were measured. The rearrangement of the jet flow associated with the three-dimensional structure of the jet and interaction of the jet and a screen was investigated.
