Waveguides: characteristic modes of hollow rectangular dielectric waveguides
Applied Optics, 1976The field configurations and propagation constants of the normal modes of a hollow rectangular dielectric waveguide have been determined. In addition, the coupling coefficients of a Gaussian free-space mode into the normal modes of a square guide were calculated.

Open resonators powered by a rectangular waveguide
IEE Proceedings H Microwaves, Antennas and Propagation, 1992In the paper, by taking into account both diffraction and ohmic losses, a complete analysis of the excitation of an open resonator is developed. The coupling between the rectangular feeding waveguide and the cavity is fully considered, by taking into account all the relevant modes in the waveguide and the open cavity, in order to derive the coupling ...

Rectangular and Ridge Waveguide
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1956This paper describes the present state of the art with respect to rectangular ridge waveguide giving tables and data from standard waveguide sizes and constructional techniques for both rigid and flexible waveguide. The problems inherent in waveguide connectors are discussed along with the various methods for producing waveguide assemblies.

The miniaturization of rectangular waveguide
2010 International Conference on Microwave and Millimeter Wave Technology, 2010This paper presented a miniaturization rectangular waveguide which much smaller than hallow rectangular waveguide (HRWG) having same cutoff frequency of dominant mode and a large bandwidth of single dominant mode working (BWSMW) by inserting a suspended dielectric layer which partly covered a metal grounded plane.

Development of Coplanar Waveguide to Rectangular Waveguide Transition
2009 Annual IEEE India Conference, 2009This paper deals with a transition between CPW and rectangular waveguide suitable in phased array antenna environment. In case of phased array antenna where the scan angles are very large, the sub array size gets reduced. Hence in such cases the feed element size becomes very small and the accommodation of active module comprising phase shifter and ...

Piecewise-uniform bends in rectangular waveguide
IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, 2005A new configuration of improved rectangular-waveguide bend for advanced millimeter-wave applications is presented. It consists of few lengths of constant-curvature bends, properly designed in order to obtain enhanced matching conditions, without matching elements.

Rectangular Dielectric Waveguides
2003The rectangular dielectric waveguide is the most commonly used structure in integrated optics, especially in semiconductor diode lasers. Demands for new applications such as high-speed data backplanes in integrated electronics, waveguide filters, optical multiplexors, and optical switches are driving technology toward better materials and processing ...

Ground coplanar waveguide to rectangular waveguide transition
2009 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2009The ever-increasing interest towards microwave and millimeter-wave monolithic integrated circuits has led to employing coplanar waveguide (CPW) due to its many advantages such as compact size and capability to incorporate shunt and series elements without the need to process backside and integrate via holes.

Properties of Rectangular Waveguides
1971For considerations about the propagation of the TM and TE waves derived in Chapter 13 the common factor exp [jωt-Гz] suffices here. The precise form of the electromagnetic field in a given cross-section where z = constant is not relevant in this connection.
