Rectangular waveguide impedance

13th International Crimean Conference Microwave and Telecommunication Technology, 2003. CriMiCo 2003., 2003
Presented in this paper is the analytical dependence of H/sub 10/ wave impedance on parameters b/a and a//spl lambda/ for the waveguide with cross-section a/spl times/b. For the given value a//spl lambda/, the function Zg(b/a) can be approximated by function A(b/a)Zc/sub 10/(b/a), where constant A possesses values from 0,5 up to 2 over the waveguide ...

Doubly periodic rectangular waveguide

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2006
AbstractBased on Floquet theorem and Maxwell's equations, the governing five‐term recurrence relation is derived for doubly periodic (DP) waveguide. Its dispersion curve is calculated. Schemes to realize DP waveguide are discussed. Measured date on a model are introduced to establish the proposed concept and the dual‐mode characteristics of DP ...

Multimode Analysis of Rectangular Waveguide Transitions

15th European Microwave Conference, 1985, 1985
A method is presented to calculate the multimode scattering matrix of a continuous tapered rectangular waveguide transition. The method is based on approximating the transition by cascaded uniform waveguide sections, determining the scattering matrices of their junctions by a mode-matching method, and combining the matrices to yield the overall ...

Miniaturized synthetic rectangular waveguide

IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 2003, 2003
An artificially engineered, dielectric-filled rectangular waveguide is presented. Such a synthetic waveguide, made by a conventional printed-circuit board (PCB) process, consists of two-dimensional periodical arrays at the top and bottom surfaces and two metallic sidewalls.

Rectangular waveguide devices

1987
The general theory of transversely magnetised ferrite in rectangular waveguide is given in Chapter 6. In particular, Fig. 6.1 shows the planes where the magnetic field in the rectangular waveguide is circularly polarised in a plane parallel to the broad face of the waveguide.

Forced Motions in Rectangular Elastic Waveguide

2010
Based on the superposition method, an analytic technique is developed for evaluation of the energy division among various modes in rectangular isotropic waveguide excited by loadings distributed on a portion of bounding faces. Results calculated for a square waveguide with uniform loading of constant magnitude are presented graphically.

Analysis of a rectangular waveguide isolator

Journal of Lightwave Technology, 1983
Isolator conditions are derived for a rectangular waveguide in which magneto-optical and anisotropic dielectric crystals are integrated for reciprocal and nonreciprocal E^{x}-E^{y} mode conversion functions, respectively. Relations between structural parameters are derived by perturbation analysis, and design examples of single-mode isolators with 3.6-,

Inductive Post Arrays in Rectangular Waveguide

Bell System Technical Journal, 1978
Summary: Previous attempts, based on mode-matching techniques, to obtain precise data for the equivalent circuit of inductive post arrays in rectangular waveguide have consistently failed due to convergence problems. A different formulation is presented for symmetrical post arrays, which is shown to be free from this defect.

Rectangular waveguide characterization for reflectometry

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 1988
Simple first-order correction formulas are developed to describe the combined effect of wall distortion and wall loss on the propagation constant and normalized impedance of nominally rectangular waveguides intended for use in reflectometry. A simple method of measuring the propagation constant at a single frequency is described, resulting in practical

Modes of crossed rectangular waveguide

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1976
The cutoff frequencies and modal fields of dually polarized crossed rectangular waveguide are calculated numerically and the cutoff frequencies verified experimentally. Symmetry arguments and group theory are used to explain mode degeneracies and mode splitting. The single mode bandwidth is 38 percent of center frequency for both polarizations when the
