Social reintegration of women after obstetric fistula surgery: Evidence from a longitudinal multilevel mixed‐effects study in Zambia

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
Achieving continence remains central to obstetric fistula recovery because of its strong association with improved social reintegration. However, the marked gains observed during the first 3 months after surgery suggest that early postoperative follow‐up and reintegration support may be important even for women with persistent symptoms.

Clinical Outcome of EMG‐Based Pelvic Floor Biofeedback in Patients With Constipation—Impact of Prior Anorectal Manometry/Balloon Expulsion Test for Patient Selection. A Retrospective Study

open access: yesNeurogastroenterology &Motility, Volume 38, Issue 6, June 2026.
EMG‐based BFT for constipation in a real‐life practice demonstrated similar treatment success whether patients underwent ARM prior to referral or were referred directly. When ARM access is limited, referral for EMG‐based BFT for constipation may still be guided by clinical assessment alone.
