Generalised recurrence plot analysis for spatial data

open access: yesPhysics Letters A, 2007
Recurrence plot based methods are highly efficient and widely accepted tools for the investigation of time series or one-dimensional data. We present an extension of the recurrence plots and their quantifications in order to study recurrent structures in higher-dimensional spatial data. The capability of this extension is illustrated on prototypical 2D

Atrial fibrillation classification based on the 2D representation of minimal subset ECG and a non-deep neural network

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2023
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common cardiac arrhythmia, and its early detection is critical for preventing complications and optimizing treatment.

Multivariate Process Control Chart Pattern Classification Using Multi-Channel Deep Convolutional Neural Networks

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
Statistical process control (SPC) charts are commonly used to monitor quality characteristics in manufacturing processes. When monitoring two or more related quality characteristics simultaneously, multivariate T2 control charts are often employed.

Recurrence Plots 25 years later -- gaining confidence in dynamical transitions

open access: yes, 2013
Recurrence plot based time series analysis is widely used to study changes and transitions in the dynamics of a system or temporal deviations from its overall dynamical regime.

Condition Monitor System for Rotation Machine by CNN with Recurrence Plot

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
Induction motors face various stresses under operating conditions leading to some failure modes. Hence, health monitoring for motors becomes essential.

Recurrence plot features of ECG signals [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the First Joint BMES/EMBS Conference. 1999 IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology 21st Annual Conference and the 1999 Annual Fall Meeting of the Biomedical Engineering Society (Cat. No.99CH37015), 2003
Single beats from ECG recording were used to demonstrate how the nonlinear dynamical analysis method of recurrence plots can be used to qualitatively describe data. It is concluded that, for ECG examples, the characteristics of the signals that cause particular features of the recurrence plots are easily identified.

Outcomes and Surgical Management of Malignant Rhabdoid Tumor of the Kidney: A Report From the Pediatric Surgical Oncology Research Collaborative

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Malignant rhabdoid tumor of the kidney (MRTK) is a rare, aggressive tumor seen in young children. The optimal timing of resection for locally advanced tumors is not well‐defined. The purpose of this study is to evaluate modern oncologic outcomes and the impact of surgical timing. Methods A multicenter retrospective review was performed

Recurrence Plot Based Measures of Complexity and its Application to Heart Rate Variability Data

open access: yes, 2002
The knowledge of transitions between regular, laminar or chaotic behavior is essential to understand the underlying mechanisms behind complex systems. While several linear approaches are often insufficient to describe such processes, there are several ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
