Multiplex single‐cell profiling of putative cancer stem cell markers ALDH1, SOX9, SOX2, CD44, CD133 and CD15 in endometrial cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cancer stem cells are associated with aggressive disease, but a deep characterization of such markers is lacking in endometrial cancer. This study uses imaging mass cytometry to explore putative cancer stem cell markers in endometrial tumors and corresponding organoid models.

Effects of pregnancy on neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder and predictors of related attacks

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, Volume 9, Issue 12, Page 1918-1925, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Objective Our study aimed to investigate the influence of pregnancy on the course of neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD) and to explore the independent predictors of pregnancy‐related attacks. Methods We performed a retrospective study of patients with NMOSD based on the Wingerchuk 2006 or the revised Wingerchuk 2015 criteria ...

Morphic Words and Nested Recurrence Relations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
We explore a family of nested recurrence relations with arbitrary levels of nesting, which have an interpretation in terms of fixed points of morphisms over a countably infinite alphabet. Recurrences in this family are related to a number of well-known sequences, including Hofstadter's G sequence and the Conolly and Tanny sequences.

The Kashaev Equation and Related Recurrences [PDF]

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2019
The hexahedron recurrence was introduced by R. Kenyon and R. Pemantle in the study of the double-dimer model in statistical mechanics. It describes a relationship among certain minors of a square matrix. This recurrence is closely related to the Kashaev equation, which has its roots in the Ising model and in the study of relations among principal ...

Peripheral blood proteome biomarkers distinguish immunosuppressive features of cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Immune status significantly influences cancer progression. This study used plasma proteomics to analyze benign 67NR and malignant 4T1 breast tumor models at early and late tumor stages. Immune‐related proteins–osteopontin (Spp1), lactotransferrin (Ltf), calreticulin (Calr) and peroxiredoxin 2 (Prdx2)–were associated with systemic myeloid‐derived ...

The clinical spectrum of SMA‐PME and in vitro normalization of its cellular ceramide profile

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, Volume 9, Issue 12, Page 1941-1952, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Objective The objectives of this study were to define the clinical and biochemical spectrum of spinal muscular atrophy with progressive myoclonic epilepsy (SMA‐PME) and to determine if aberrant cellular ceramide accumulation could be normalized by enzyme replacement.

Recurrence relations for orthogonal polynomials on a triangle [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
This paper derives sparse recurrence relations between orthogonal polynomials on a triangle and their partial derivatives, which are analogous to recurrence relations for Jacobi polynomials. We derive these recurrences in a systematic fashion by introducing ladder operators that map an orthogonal polynomial to another by incrementing or decrementing ...

Recurrence relations for the Sheffer sequences [PDF]

open access: yesLinear Algebra and its Applications, 2012
AbstractIn this paper, using the production matrix of an exponential Riordan array [g(t),f(t)], we give a recurrence relation for the Sheffer sequence for the ordered pair (g(t),f(t)). We also develop a new determinant representation for the general term of the Sheffer sequence.

CircCCNB1 inhibits vasculogenic mimicry by sequestering NF90 to promote miR‐15b‐5p and miR‐7‐1‐3p processing in nasopharyngeal carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CircCCNB1 expression is down‐regulated in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC); thus, less NF90 protein is bound to circCCNB1 and more binds to pri‐miRNAs, blocking their (pri‐miRNAs) binding to DGCR8 and inhibiting the processing and generation of miR‐15b‐5p/miR‐7‐1‐3p. Furthermore, decreased miR‐15b‐5p/miR‐7‐1‐3p promotes the expression of the target genes

Brain magnetic resonance imaging predictors in anti‐N‐methyl‐D‐aspartate receptor encephalitis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, Volume 9, Issue 12, Page 1974-1984, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Objective Brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings in anti‐N‐methyl‐D‐aspartate receptor (NMDAR) encephalitis are nonspecific and rarely have obvious associations with clinical characteristics and outcomes. This study aimed to comprehensively describe the MRI features of patients with NMDAR encephalitis, examine their associations with ...
