The Entropy of Progressively Censored Samples
In many life-testing and reliability studies, the experimenter might not always obtain complete information on failure times for all experimental units.

A converse of Sturm's separation theorem
We show that Sturm's classical separation theorem on the interlacing of the zeros of linearly independent solutions of real second order two-term ordinary differential equations necessarily fails in the presence of a turning point in the principal part ...

Recurrence relations satisfied by some arithmetic groups
Recently, recurrence relations satisfied by the modular traces of the Hauptmodul for Γ0(N){\Gamma }_{0}\left(N) of genus zero have been established. However, these relations do not determine all values of the modular traces.

Recurrence Relations for Jacobi Orthogonal Polynomials on the Triangular Domain
In this paper, we present recurrence relations for the Jacobi weighted orthogonal polynomials Pn,r(α,β,γ) (u, v, w) with r = 0, 1, . . . , n, where n ≥ 0, defined on the triangular domain T = {(u, v, w) : u, v, w ≥ 0, u + v + w = 1} for values of α, β ...

Discatenated and lacunary recurrences [PDF]
Recursive sequences with gaps have been studied previously. This paper considers some elementary properties of such sequences where the gaps have been created on a regular basis from sequence to sequence – ‘discatenated’ (systematic gaps) and ‘lacunary’

We examine the expansions of the solutions of the general Heun equation in terms of the Gauss hypergeometric functions. We present several expansions using functions, the forms of which differ from those applied before.

Recurrent Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy Related to Recurrent Thyrotoxicosis [PDF]
Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, or transient left ventricular apical ballooning syndrome, is characterized by acute left ventricular dysfunction caused by transient wall-motion abnormalities of the left ventricular apex and mid ventricle in the absence of obstructive coronary artery disease.

Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.
