Lung Function in Children with Recurrent Bronchitis

Respiration, 2009
Lung function was studied in 29 children suffering from recurrent bronchitis (average number of bronchitis attacks per year: 4.2 ± 0.5). Most of them (73%) were 1–7 years old. The date of exploration in relation to the last acute bronchitis was on average 6 weeks. Lung mechanics, residual functional capacity, blood gases and regional lung function were

Growth Functions for Groups and Recurrence Sequences

Proceedings of the London Mathematical Society, 1991
Let \(G\) be a group generated by a finite set \(S\), and let \(H\) be a subgroup of \(G\). We define the length \(\ell^ H_ S(Hg)\) of the coset \(Hg\) to be the least value of \(n\) such that \(Hg = Hs_ 1s_ 2 \dots s_ n\) \((s_ i \in S \cup S^{-1}\), \(i=1,\dots,n\)). [If one thinks geometrically in terms of the Cayley graph of \(G\) with respect to \(

On the function of recurrent inhibition in the spinal cord

Experimental Brain Research, 1979
Recurrent inhibition of alpha-motoneurons, via motor axon collaterals and Renshaw cells, obviously reduces the response (output) from a motor nucleus to a given synaptic input. It is proposed that the supraspinal covergence on Renshaw cells allows recurrent inhibition to serve as a variable gain regulator at motoneuronal level.

Recurrences for hypergeometric functions

2003
Summary: Many of the known recurrences for the hypergeometric functions of several variables involve more than two parameters. A method is developed which allows a search of the functions for recurrences which involve only a specific number of the parameters, in particular, two parameter recurrences.

Recurrence Functions and Numerical Characteristics of Graphs

2001
We present a general method for the description of the structural meaning of the canonical representation coefficients of a wide class of the recurrence functions of graphs. The combinatorial objects, the so-called (j,k)-placements, are used. The algorithm, which can be realized on PC and allows to reveal some relations between the numerical ...
