Theorizing Synchronization of Organizational Resources in Dynamic Environments
ABSTRACT Resource orchestration (RO) in dynamic environments poses challenges during strategic initiatives. Although prior research highlights RO's benefits, little is known about how managerial decisions influence RO over time, potentially leading to inefficiencies.

Abstract The circular economy (CE) is often treated as a technological or system‐design challenge. We argue that it is also a managerial transition that remains under‐theorized. Rather than assuming that CE requires wholly new managerial frameworks, we revisit Fayol's functions of planning, organizing, leading and controlling as enduring managerial ...

ABSTRACT This paper develops a three‐layer conceptual framework, comprising surveillance architecture, HRM design choices, and employee responses, to explain how digital surveillance reshapes workplace relationships. Anchored in organizational paradox theory, the framework treats workplace visibility as a persistent, two‐sided tension rather than a ...

Male weaponry evolution is often linked to male–male competition, but its relationship with breeding site type remains unclear. Using Leptodactylinae frogs, we found a macroevolutionary correlation between breeding site type and weapon evolution. Also, gains and losses of weapons occurred more frequently in exposed‐breeding sites, an unexpected finding.

Inferring alternative ecosystem states with field survey data
Abstract Many ecosystems potentially exhibit alternative stable states, where distinct states can coexist under identical environmental conditions. While simulation models have generated key hypotheses in alternative stable states theory, they often rely on scale‐free parameters disconnected from real ecosystems.

Abstract Background As AI‐enabled social robots become more common in schools, children may form strong emotional bonds with them despite robots not being caregivers and lacking the capacities for “true” attachment. Given limited understanding of potential risks and safeguards, professional perspectives are needed to inform responsible design and ...

Not So Protected After All—Managing Paradoxical Tensions in Mission‐Oriented Innovation Ecosystems
ABSTRACT This study explores how actors within mission‐oriented innovation ecosystems (MIEs) experience and manage paradoxical tensions while pursuing systemic change. MIEs are increasingly leveraged to address complex societal challenges through cross‐sector collaboration and coordinated innovation efforts, particularly in sustainability transition ...

Neural Local Inter‐reflection Modeling for Garment Fold Rendering
Abstract Realistic garment rendering requires simulating complex multi‐bounce light paths within intricate fold geometries. In these regions, conventional path tracing is computationally expensive as light becomes trapped, necessitating high bounce counts for convergence.
