Nonlinear Disturbance Observer-Based Adaptive Anti-Lock Braking Control of Electro-Hydraulic Brake Systems with Unknown Tire–Road-Friction Coefficient

open access: yesMachines
This paper addresses a recursive adaptive anti-lock braking (AB) control design problem for electro-hydraulic brake (EHB) systems subject to unknown tire–road-friction coefficients and disturbances.

Vestibular Patient Journey: Insights From Vestibular Disorders Association (VeDA) Registry

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Vestibular symptoms impose a high burden of disability. Understanding real‐world diagnostic and treatment pathways can identify care gaps and guide interventions. We aimed to characterize symptom profiles, diagnostic trends, provider involvement, and treatment patterns in vestibular disorders.

Robust and Efficient Recovery of Rigid Motion from Subspace Constraints Solved using Recursive Identification of Nonlinear Implicit Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
The problem of estimating rigid motion from projections may be characterized using a nonlinear dynamical system, composed of the rigid motion transformation and the perspective map. The time derivative of the output of such a system, which is also called

Trajectories of Physical Function in Canadian Children with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objectives We describe trajectories of physical function in children newly diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) and identify trajectories with persisting functional impairments and associated baseline characteristics. Methods We included patients enrolled in the Canadian Alliance of Pediatric Rheumatology Investigators (CAPRI) Registry ...

Augmented Recursive Sliding Mode Observer Based Adaptive Terminal Sliding Mode Controller for PMSM Drives

open access: yesActuators
Time-varying lumped disturbance and measurement noise are primary obstacles that restrict the control performance of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives.

Predicting Atomic Charges in MOFs by Topological Charge Equilibration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An atomic charge prediction method is presented that is able to accurately reproduce ab‐initio‐derived reference charges for a large number of metal–organic frameworks. Based on a topological charge equilibration scheme, static charges that fulfill overall neutrality are quickly generated.

Finite-horizon estimation of randomly occurring faults for a class of nonlinear time-varying systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This paper is concerned with the finite-horizon estimation problem of randomly occurring faults for a class of nonlinear systems whose parameters are all time-varying.

Data‐Driven Bulldozer Blade Control for Autonomous Terrain Leveling

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A simulation‐driven framework for autonomous bulldozer leveling is presented, combining high‐fidelity terramechanics simulation with a neural‐network‐based reduced‐order model. Gradient‐based optimization enables efficient, low‐level blade control that balances leveling quality and operation time.

Some Thoughts on Hypercomputation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Hypercomputation is a relatively new branch of computer science that emerged from the idea that the Church--Turing Thesis, which is supposed to describe what is computable and what is noncomputable, cannot possible be true.

Systematic Exploration of 3D Concrete Printing Parameters for Conformal Printing on Sloped Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A conformal slicing algorithm is developed for robotic 3D concrete printing (3DCP) on sloped surfaces as a first step toward printing slab‐on‐grade foundations on uneven terrain. Systematic experiments quantify the effects of nozzle speed, extrusion rate, and toolpath direction on filament dimension and stability.
