Infra-red Divergences in Light-Front QED and Coherent State Basis

open access: yes, 2012
We present a next to leading order calculation of electron mass renormalization in Light-Front Quantum Electrodynamics (LFQED) using old-fashioned time ordered perturbation theory (TOPT).

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Monochromatic Light Interactions in the Early Hypocotyl Elongation of Sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) Seedlings

open access: yesInternational Journal of Plant Biology
Sunflower is a crop species well adapted for cultivation in open fields under full sunlight. Young plantlets can be grown in growth chambers under low irradiance, where different aspects of light can be easily tracked.

Éteindre le Red Light [PDF]

open access: yesUrban History Review, 1989
The Red Light district in Montreal has long been the object of sporadic efforts, if not to eliminate it, at least to control, regulate or limit it to a definite area of the city. Enquiries on the police in 1905, 1909, and 1924 give us information on the official position of the authorities and the activities of pressure groups concerned with ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

A red light in mitosis [PDF]

open access: yesNature Reviews Molecular Cell Biology, 2012
Conly Rieder and colleagues demonstrated in 1995 that one unattached chromosome is sufficient to prevent sister chromatid separation in mitosis.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Medical diagnosis system and method with multispectral imaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
A skin diagnosis system includes a scanning and optical arrangement whereby light reflected from each incremental area (pixel) of the skin is directed simultaneously to three separate light filters, e.g., IR, red, and green.

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

A Study on the Impact of Blue Light and Its Brightness on Long-Term Memory

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of blue light and its brightness on long-term memory. Blue light was tested under four distinct illuminance conditions ranging from 400 to 1000 lux, and the results were compared with those of red light
