Afterhyperpolarization in neurones of the red nucleus

Experimental Brain Research, 1984
Afterhyperpolarization (AHP) following single or short trains of spikes in rubrospinal neurones (RN neurones) of the cat has been studied with intracellular recording techniques. The AHP amplitude was potential dependent; it increased with depolarization and decreased with hyperpolarization and had an extrapolated reversal potential about 20 mV below ...

Electrical constants of neurons of the red nucleus

Experimental Brain Research, 1975
Membrane electrical constants have been studied in neurons of the red nucleus (RN) of the cat which were identified antidromically from the spinal cord. For each cell, the input resistance was determined from the membrane potential changes to current steps and was found to be 2.5+/-0.9 Momega in twenty five RN cells studied.

Improving RED by a Neuron Controller

2007
In this paper, we propose a novel active queue management (AQM) algorithm called Neuron Control RED (NC-RED) that overcomes the drawbacks of the original RED. NC-RED uses a neuron controller to adaptively adjust the maximum drop probability to stabilize the average queue length around the target queue length.

Eye movement-related neurons in the red nucleus

Neuroscience Letters, 1990
Extracellular unit activity of the parvocellular red nucleus (RN) and spontaneous horizontal eye movements were recorded in adult, nitrous oxide-anesthetized and C1 transected cats. It was found that 7.5% of the neurons of each RN were related to spontaneous horizontal saccadic eye movements.

Distribution of Motor Cortical Neuron Synaptic Terminals on Monkey Parvocellular Red Nucleus Neurons

Somatosensory & Motor Research, 1991
We determined the location of 54 horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-labeled motor cortical neuron synaptic terminals on 17 parvocellular neurons in the monkey red nucleus. Synaptic terminals and their postsynaptic elements were identified and reconstructed, using light- and electron-microscopic techniques, from serial thick and thin sections.

Corticofugal postsynaptic influences on red nucleus neurons

Neurophysiology, 1971
The responses of red nucleus neurons to stimulation of the sensorimotor cortex was studied on nembutal-anesthetized cats. Most of the rubrospinal neurons were identified according to their antidromic activation. Stimulation of the sensorimotor cortex was shown to evoke in the red nucleus neurons monosynaptic excitatory potentials with a latency of 1.85

The mode of cerebral activation of red nucleus neurones

Experientia, 1966

The mode of cerebral excitation of red nucleus neurons

Experimental Brain Research, 1968
1. In anesthetized cats, potential changes were recorded intracellularly from the red nucleus neurons during single shock stimulation of the sensorimotor cortex, internal capsule and cerebral peduncle. 2. These stimulations monosynaptically produced EPSPs with characteristically slow rising time course.
