Modified model of Newtonian gravitation.

open access: yesТонкие химические технологии, 2011
Within the limits of the classical mechanics for planets of the Solar system a new form of gravitational potential is suggested. The following effects are considered: perihelion advance of the planets, deviation of light beams in the field of the Sun ...

Specific Alcohol-Responsive Photonic Crystal Sensors Based on Host-Guest Recognition

open access: yesGels, 2023
A photonic crystal material based on β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) with adsorption capacity is reported. The materials ((A-β-CD)-AM PC) consist of 3D poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) colloidal microsphere arrays and hydrogels supplemented with β-cyclodextrin ...

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Shift Happens: Enactment of Third-Shift Work and Gendered Identity Negotiation of Working Mothers

open access: yes, 2015
For a working mother, the public sphere is frequently conceptualized in previous literature as a first shift of work in the paid labor force, and a second shift of work conceptualized as her motherhood responsibilities, taking place in the home.

Um Estudo Químico-quântico da Covalência Intermolecular em Sistemas Estabilizados por Ligações de Hidrogênio π∙∙∙H e N∙∙∙H: Cálculos DFT, ChelpG, NBO e QTAIM

open access: yesOrbital: The Electronic Journal of Chemistry, 2016
In this work, density functional calculations at BHandHLYP/6-311++G(d,p) theoretical level of structural parameters, electronic properties and vibration modes of the C2H2∙∙∙HCN∙∙∙HF and C2H4∙∙∙HCN∙∙∙HF T-shaped hydrogen complexes is presented.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

mBeRFP, an improved large stokes shift red fluorescent protein.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Herein, we describe the generation of a monomeric large Stokes shift (LSS) red fluorescent protein, mBeRFP, with excitation and emission peaks at 446 and 615 nm, respectively. Compared with two previously reported LSS-RFPs (mKeima and LSS-mKate2), mBeRFP

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...

Cell geometry and membrane protein crowding constrain Escherichia coli growth rate, overflow metabolism, respiration, and maintenance energy

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This
