Toward Flexible Printed Electronics: A Spider‐Silk‐Inspired, Strong and Tough Thermoplastic Polyamide Elastomer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by spider silk, a bio‐inspired polyamide elastomer with a dynamic physical cross‐linking network is developed. Mimicking the rigid β‐sheet crystals and sacrificial hydrogen bonds of silk, the material achieves an exceptional balance of strength and toughness.

One‐Step, High‐Removal‐Rate and Low‐Damage Chemical Mechanical Polishing of InP Enabled by Hydrolysis Activated PF6− with In Situ Fluoride Passivation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this work, we propose a CMP method for InP using NH4PF₆, which hydrolyzes under In3+ catalysis to form reactive species. These convert InP into low‐binding‐energy fluorides, facilitating removal and dissolution. The process delivers high material removal rates, smooth surfaces, and fluorine passivation that lowers defect density and improves ...

Statistics in large galaxy redshift surveys [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This thesis focuses on modeling and measuring pairwise statistics in large galaxy redshift surveys. The first part focuses on two point correlation function measurements relevant to the Euclid and DESI BGS surveys. Two point measurements in these surveys

A Unified Photometric Redshift Calibration for Weak Lensing Surveys Using the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The effective redshift distribution n ( z ) of galaxies is a critical component in the study of weak gravitational lensing. Here, we introduce a new method for determining n ( z ) for weak lensing surveys based on high-quality redshifts and neural ...

Autonomous and Continuous Atmospheric Water Harvesting Using Modified Wood

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A rigid, hydroxyl‐rich wood skeleton with graded channels is used as a multifunctional host to co‐incorporate a PNipam/PAA network and LiCl, creating a high‐performance sorbent for atmospheric water harvesting. The composite achieves rapid sorption, efficient low‐temperature desorption, and stable cycling, enabling a solar‐powered device with a high ...

Bayesian Component Separation for DESI LAE Automated Spectroscopic Redshifts and Photometric Targeting

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Lyα emitters (LAEs) are valuable high-redshift cosmological probes traditionally identified using specialized narrowband photometric surveys. In ground-based spectroscopy, it can be difficult to distinguish the sharp LAE peak from residual sky emission ...

Chitosan‐Carbon Dot Composite Materials Form a Leaf Surface Barrier to Mitigate the Enrichment and Invasion of Nanoplastics: From Leaf Interface to Systemic Response

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Foliar spraying of CS‐CDs can form a film on the leaves of Brassica rapa, effectively reducing the enrichment and absorption of PS in the leaves, while increasing the biomass and nutrient content of the plants. In addition, CS‐CDs can also enrich the interfoliar microbial community and activate the plant's own defense metabolic pathways.

Galaxy clustering in large redshift surveys [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
This thesis analyses the large scale distribution of galaxies in two recently completed redshift surveys and develops models to infer estimates of redshift-space distortions.

The DECADE cosmic shear project II: photometric redshift calibration of the source galaxy sample

open access: yesThe Open Journal of Astrophysics
We present the photometric redshift characterization and calibration for the Dark Energy Camera All Data Everywhere (DECADE) weak lensing dataset: a catalog of 107 million galaxies observed by the Dark Energy Camera (DECam) in the northern Galactic cap ...
