An Empirical and Subjective Model of Upper Extremity Fatigue Under Hypogravity
In the context of extra-terrestrial missions, the effects of hypogravity (0 < G < 1) on the human body can reduce the well-being of the crew, cause musculoskeletal problems and affect their ability to perform tasks, especially during long-term ...

Hypogravity modeling of upper extremities: an investigation of manual handling in the workplace
Experiments on the lower limbs are the only approaches being used to study how hypogravity (HG) (0 < g < 1, e.g., Moon: 1/6 g, Mars: 3/8 g) affects human movement.

To overcome the problem of abnormally large bubbles and the large reduction of heat flux under low gravity, the computational model of magnetic nanofluid (MNF) boiling flow was used to systematically study the thermodynamic characteristics of an MNF ...

Reduced Hamiltonians for gravity [PDF]
This paper is concerned with quantization of gravity. Earlier, the authors have developed a technique for finding canonical variables that can be applied, in particular, to systems with constraints. First, the constraints arising in general relativity from the Lagrangian formalism with the Hilbert Lagrangian are imposed, and then dynamical variables ...

Gait transitions in simulated reduced gravity [PDF]
Gravity has a strong effect on gait and the speed of gait transitions. A gait has been defined as a pattern of locomotion that changes discontinuously at the transition to another gait. On Earth, during gradual speed changes, humans exhibit a sudden discontinuous switch from walking to running at a specific speed.

Quench cooling under reduced gravity [PDF]
We report the quench cooling experiments performed with liquid O2 under different levels of gravity simulated with the magnetic gravity compensation. A copper disk is quenched from 270K to 90K. It is found that the cooling time in microgravity is very long in comparison with any other gravity level.

Comparison of Microgravity Analogs to Spaceflight in Studies of Plant Growth and Development
Life on Earth has evolved under the influence of gravity. This force has played an important role in shaping development and morphology from the molecular level to the whole organism. Although aquatic life experiences reduced gravity effects, land plants

Gravity currents in rotating, wedge-shaped, adverse channels [PDF]
Results are presented from a series of parametric experimental and analytical studies of the behaviour of dense gravity currents along rotating, up-sloping, wedge-shaped channels.
