Sessile Drop Wettability in Normal and Reduced Gravity

open access: yes, 2012
International audienceThis paper presents initial work performed to develop a database of contact angles of sessile drops in reduced gravity. Currently, there is no database of wettability of sessile drops in reduced gravity.

Dexterous Manipulation During Rhythmic Arm Movements in Mars, Moon, and Micro-Gravity

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2018
Predicting the consequences of one’s own movements can be challenging when confronted with completely novel environmental dynamics, such as microgravity in space.

Lab-on-a-Chip Technologies for Microgravity Simulation and Space Applications

open access: yesMicromachines, 2022
Gravity plays an important role in the development of life on earth. The effect of gravity on living organisms can be investigated by controlling the magnitude of gravity.

An experimental investigation into liquid jetting modes and break-up mechanisms conducted in a new reduced gravity facility

open access: yes, 2006
Liquid jets, important to many industrial applications including various drop-on-demand processes, are experimentally produced in reduced gravity conditions and analysed to determine the mode the liquid jet is operating in.

Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...

Topographic features around Syowa Station as viewed from the gravity measurements -Some implications on the bedrock topography under the ice sheet-

open access: yesAntarctic Record, 1984
The coefficients of the correlation between the reduced gravity anomaly and the bedrock height were calculated using gravity data in the Lutzow-Holm Bay region and the Mizuho Plateau, East Antarctica.

Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

Versatile vector tools for efficient protein screening across multiple expression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A unified vector toolkit enables rapid protein expression screening across E. coli, insect, and mammalian cells. A single primer pair amplifies the target gene, which is inserted into any vector via a standardized interface. This streamlined workflow eliminates repeated cloning steps, accelerating the identification of optimal expression conditions for

Impairment of 7F2 osteoblast function by simulated partial gravity in a Random Positioning Machine

open access: yesnpj Microgravity, 2022
The multifaceted adverse effects of reduced gravity pose a significant challenge to human spaceflight. Previous studies have shown that bone formation by osteoblasts decreases under microgravity conditions, both real and simulated.
