Reductive Capacity of Natural Reductants

Environmental Science & Technology, 2002
Reductive capacities of soil minerals and soil for Cr(VI) and chlorinated ethylenes were measured and characterized to provide basic knowledge for in-situ and ex-situ treatment using these natural reductants. The reductive capacities of iron-bearing sulfide (pyrite), hydroxide (green rust; GR(SO4)), and oxide (magnetite) minerals for Cr(VI) and ...

Reduction languages for reduction machines

Proceedings of the 2nd annual symposium on Computer architecture - ISCA '75, 1974
This paper describes a particular realization of a Lambda-Red language as a machine language. Parts of it resemble the Lambda Calculus or a transposed form of it. A constructor syntax is employed such that a linearized preorder representation of the syntax tree is the information structure on which the machine operates. Instances of reduction rules are

Plaque Reduction Unaccompanied by Gingivitis Reduction [PDF]

open access: possibleJournal of Periodontology, 1986
The effects of brushing with three different dentifrices on plaque accumulation and gingival inflammation were studied in 83 subjects. The Turesky modification of the QuigleyHein plaque index and a modified Löe‐Silness gingivitis index were employed.

Reductive Groups are Geometrically Reductive [PDF]

open access: possibleThe Annals of Mathematics, 1975
Let G be a semi-simple algebraic group over an algebraically closed field, k. Let G act rationally by automorphisms on the finitely generated k-algebra, R. The problem of proving that the ring of invariants, RG, is finitely generated originates with the invariant theorists of the nineteenth century.

REDUCTION OF REFLECTIONS

Optometry and Vision Science, 1946
OF ALL the technical advances to come out of the recent war, probably the most significant optically is the coating of lenses with reflection-reducing films. Now that coating has been made available to members of the profession, an appraisal of it is in order, for at present it has both limitations and important uses.

Reduction of Oxides and Reduction Smelting

2021
A number of metals are produced from oxide minerals. Iron, manganese, chromium, and tin are exclusively obtained from oxide ores. Rich ores, for example, hematite, pyrolusite, chromite, and so on can be directly reduced whereas lean ores are first concentrated by communication, classification, jigging, and tabling.
