Electrochemical Nitrate Reduction: Ammonia Synthesis and the Beyond

Advances in Materials, 2023
Natural nitrogen cycle has been severely disrupted by anthropogenic activities. The overuse of N‐containing fertilizers induces the increase of nitrate level in surface and ground waters, and substantial emission of nitrogen oxides causes heavy air ...

Tandem Electrocatalytic Nitrate Reduction to Ammonia on MBenes.

Angewandte Chemie, 2023
We demonstrate the great feasibility of MBenes as a new class of tandem catalysts for electrocatalytic nitrate reduction to ammonia (NO3RR). As a proof of concept, FeB2 is first employed as a model MBene catalyst for the NO3RR, showing a maximum NH3 ...

Reductive Capacity of Natural Reductants

Environmental Science & Technology, 2002
Reductive capacities of soil minerals and soil for Cr(VI) and chlorinated ethylenes were measured and characterized to provide basic knowledge for in-situ and ex-situ treatment using these natural reductants. The reductive capacities of iron-bearing sulfide (pyrite), hydroxide (green rust; GR(SO4)), and oxide (magnetite) minerals for Cr(VI) and ...

Cardiovascular Risk Reduction with Icosapent Ethyl for Hypertriglyceridemia

New England Journal of Medicine, 2019
BACKGROUND Patients with elevated triglyceride levels are at increased risk for ischemic events. Icosapent ethyl, a highly purified eicosapentaenoic acid ethyl ester, lowers triglyceride levels, but data are needed to determine its effects on ischemic ...

Reduction languages and reduction systems

1987
This paper gives an overview over reduction languages and a machine and system concept which directly supports the execution of reduction language programs. Following a brief introduction into the idea of functional programming, we address in some detail three reduction language approaches (λ-expression, combinators and combining forms) and a concept ...

Unveiling the Activity Origin of Copper-based Electrocatalyst for Selective Nitrate Reduction to Ammonia.

Angewandte Chemie, 2020
Unveiling the active phase of catalytic materials under reaction conditions is important for the designed construction of efficient electrocatalysts for selective nitrate reduction to ammonia.

Reductive Groups are Geometrically Reductive

The Annals of Mathematics, 1975
Let G be a semi-simple algebraic group over an algebraically closed field, k. Let G act rationally by automorphisms on the finitely generated k-algebra, R. The problem of proving that the ring of invariants, RG, is finitely generated originates with the invariant theorists of the nineteenth century.

Acoustic Metamaterials for Noise Reduction: A Review

Advanced Materials & Technologies, 2022
Noise pollution has become a significant global problem in recent years. Unfortunately, conventional acoustic materials cannot offer substantial improvements in noise reduction.

Image reduction with local reduction operators

International Conference on Fuzzy Systems, 2010
In this work we propose an image reduction algorithm based on weak local reduction operators. We use several averaging functions to build these operators and we analyze their properties. We present experimental results where we apply the algorithm and weak local reduction operators in procedures of reduction, and later, reconstruction of images.
