Mammary Microvessels are Sensitive to Menstrual Cycle Sex Hormones
Novel mammary‐specific microvessels are generated and found to be mechanosensitive and responsive to exogenous sex hormone stimulation. High estrogen (E2) promotes vascular growth and remodeling, whereas high progesterone (P4) concentrations promote vascular regression in a phase‐dependent and tissue‐specific manner.
