An integrated data-driven computational pipeline with model order reduction for industrial and applied mathematics

, 2018
In this work we present an integrated computational pipeline involving several model order reduction techniques for industrial and applied mathematics, as emerging technology for product and/or process design procedures.

Mathematical simulation of direct reduction

Metallurgical Transactions B, 1981
A finite element analysis is developed for nontopochemical reduction of a porous iron oxide pellet. The reduction kinetics are essentially the same as those used by Trushenski, Li and Philbrook. However, several novel features arise in the present analysis.

Reduction principle of the mathematical model [PDF]

open access: possible2017 2nd International Conference on Advanced Information and Communication Technologies (AICT), 2017
The detection and elimination principle of redundant elements in the mathematical model is proposed in this paper. The efficiency of the proposed approach has been analyzed based on the neural network model of economic system and differential equations model. Results prove the 16 times increasing in the model accuracy.

Managing prototype reduction with mathematical programming [PDF]

open access: possibleInnovation in Technology Management. The Key to Global Leadership. PICMET '97, 2002
Summary form only given as follows. This paper describes a math programming model used to construct a minimal shared prototype fleet that meets all testing needs. The model is run iteratively to guide a test plan development process that involves ongoing dialogue between test requesters and fleet planners.

Coverage Reduction: A Mathematical Model

Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Systems, 2018
This paper deals with a mathematical model for reduction of the lack of coverage (LC) involving multiple coverage in presence of partial covering. The model proposes a new structure of assignment of facilities in a facility location system to cover in greater proportion of the demand territory, avoiding assignment of several facilities in the same ...

Modal reduction of mathematical models of biological molecules

Journal of Computational Physics, 2005
This paper reports a detailed study of modal reduction based on either linear normal mode(LNM) analysis or proper orthogonal decomposition(POD) for modeling a single α-D glucopyranose monomer as well as a chain of monomers. Also a modal reduction method combining POD and component modal synthesis(CMS) is developed.

Entropy reduction in mathematical giftedness

2003
This paper deals with the elementary analysis of cognitive processes in mathematical problem solving for better diagnostics. The present experiment was designed to analyse the internal process and to localize the neural substrates involved in solving mathematical tasks, using EEG-coherence. The internal process is revealed by a sequence of microstates.

Reduction of a Mathematical Model for Polymer Crystallization

2004
A reduction of a recent model of crystallization is presented. After adimensionalization, we solve it numerically. The temperature field exhibits oscillations and the crystallization process exhibits jumps. In fact, there is an advancing front of crystallization outside which the degree of crystallinity is constant.

Dimensionality Reduction with Subgaussian Matrices: A Unified Theory

Foundations of Computational Mathematics, 2014
We present a theory for Euclidean dimensionality reduction with subgaussian matrices which unifies several restricted isometry property and Johnson–Lindenstrauss-type results obtained earlier for specific datasets.

Mathematical Model of Iron Reduction with Aluminothermic Method

Advanced Materials Research, 2014
Utilization of industrial waste in foundry engineering is one of approaches for decrease of production cost price. This technological process may be based on exothermic oxidation-reduction reaction with the resulting formation of iron from dross. Initial charge mixture consists of dispersed aluminum, iron dross and admixtures.
