The norm of a Ree group [PDF]

open access: yesNagoya Mathematical Journal, 2010
Abstract We give an explicit construction of the Ree groups of type G2 as groups acting on mixed Moufang hexagons together with detailed proofs of the basic properties of these groups contained in the two fundamental papers of Tits on this subject (see [7] and [8]). We also give a short proof that the norm of a Ree group is anisotropic.

Body Composition’s Association with Resting Energy Expenditure Prediction in a Large Population Sample from Different Age Groups, Sex, and Physical Activity Levels [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Functional Morphology and Kinesiology
Background: Resting energy expenditure (REE) represents 60–75% of total daily energy expenditure and is mainly determined by fat-free mass (FFM). Indeed, the predictive equations vary according to FFM techniques and population characteristics. Therefore,

Resting energy expenditure in professional dancers as an objective measure of low energy expenditure [PDF]

open access: yesBMJ Open Sport & Exercise Medicine
Objective To investigate the prevalence of low resting energy expenditure (REE) in ballet dancers and to examine its association with low energy availability (LEA) questionnaires and physiological parameters, including menstrual function and body ...

Ree groups as automorphism groups of block designs

open access: yesExamples and Counterexamples
A recent classification of flag-transitive 2-designs with parameters (v,k,λ) whose replication number r is coprime to λ gives rise to eight possible infinite families of 2-designs, some of which are with new parameters.

Principal 2-blocks of the simple groups of Ree type [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1980
The decomposition numbers in characteristic 2 of the groups of Ree type are determined, as well as the Loewy and socle series of the indecomposable projective modules. Moreover, we describe the Green correspondents of the simple modules.
