Another new approach to the small Ree groups [PDF]
The Ree groups \(^2G_2(3^{2n+1})\) and \(^2F_4(2^{2n+1})\) were originally discovered by \textit{R. Ree} [in Am J. Math. 83, 432-462 (1961; Zbl 0104.24705) and Bull. Am. Math. Soc. 67, 115-116 (1961; Zbl 0104.24703), respectively]. They were constructed as the fixed points of certain automorphisms of order 2 of Chevalley groups \(G_2(3^{2n+1})\) and ...

Synthesis and blue light-emitting characteristic of rod-like poly(4,4 '-biphenylene pyromellitimide) with furyl side groups [PDF]
A new 2,2'-bis(furyl)benzidine (FurylBZ) with a well-defined conjugation length was synthesized, and its polyimide was prepared through thermal imidization of the poly(amide acid) obtained from the polymerization with pyromellitic dianhydride ...

Suzuki–Ree groups and Tits mixed groups over rings [PDF]
It is shown that Suzuki-Ree groups can be easily defined by means of comparing two fundamental representations of the ambient Chevalley group in characteristic 2 or 3. This eliminates the distinction between the Suzuki-Ree groups over perfect and imperfect fields and gives a natural definition for the analogues of such groups over commutative rings. As

Totally chiral maps and hypermaps of small genus [PDF]
An orientably regular hypermap is totally chiral if it and its mirror image have no non-trivial common quotients. We classify the totally chiral hypermaps of genus up to 1001, and prove that the least genus of any totally chiral hypermap is 211, attained

Leptin resistance in patients with chronic schizophrenia
Aim: Leptin is produced by the adipose tissue and reduces body weight by decreasing appetite and increasing metabolism. Patients treated with antipsychotics often have treatment-induced weight-gain, leading to other metabolic complications.
