Advancing Theory and Practice Concerning CO2e Emissions: A Time‐Based Tool for Organisations

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Although organisations are increasingly scrutinised on their CO2e emissions, economic growth is frequently encouraged. Eco‐efficiency–based initiatives—‘doing more with less’—could be a solution. The problem is that many organisations (e.g., smaller enterprises without access to specialist knowledge) have difficulties in gauging the impact of ...

Defining Remanufacturing: A Key Business Strategy Advancing Industrial Circularity

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Remanufacturing is a key strategy in the circular economy, enabling substantial product value retention. However, inconsistent definitions across standards and legislation hinder global trade, core recovery and market acceptance. This study examines how remanufacturing is defined in laws and standards, and how these definitions impact industry

On the unipotent characters of the Ree groups of type G 2

open access: yesmanuscripta mathematica, 2009
This note is concerned with the unipotent characters of the Ree groups of type G_2. We determine the roots of unity associated by Lusztig and Digne-Michel to unipotent characters of ^2G_2(3^{2n+1}) and we prove that the Fourier matrix of ^2G_2(3^{2n+1}) defined by Geck and Malle satisfies a conjecture of Digne-Michel.

Family Ownership and ESG Performance: The Moderating Role of Sustainability Committee and ESG‐Linked Executive Compensation

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Grounded in agency theory, this article examines the relationship between family ownership concentration and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance, and analyzes the moderating role of sustainable governance mechanisms. Specifically, it assesses whether sustainability committees and ESG‐linked executive compensation moderate ...

Geometric structure for the principal series of a split reductive $p$-adic group with connected centre

open access: yes, 2015
Let $\mathcal{G}$ be a split reductive $p$-adic group with connected centre. We show that each Bernstein block in the principal series of $\mathcal{G}$ admits a definite geometric structure, namely that of an extended quotient.

Tracing the origins and evolution of nymphalid butterflies (Lepidoptera) in the Atlantic Forest

open access: yesEcography, EarlyView.
Understanding the relative roles of diversification and dispersal is key to explaining large‐scale biogeographical patterns. Although both processes are known to shape biodiversity, their relative contributions remain understudied for many organisms. Here, we examine how these processes have jointly contributed to the exceptional diversity and endemism

Correlação entre o gasto energético, peso corporal e massa magra de mulheres sedentárias e ativas

open access: yesColloquium Vitae, 2009
The aim was to verify the correlation among oxygen uptake (VO2) and rest energy expenditure (REE) with the body weight and lean body mass (LBM) of women.

Analysis of Predictive Equations for Estimating Resting Energy Expenditure in a Large Cohort of Morbidly Obese Patients

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2018
The treatment of obesity requires creating an energy deficit through caloric restriction and physical activity. Energy needs are estimated assessing the resting energy expenditure (REE) that in the clinical practice is estimated using predictive ...
