On the topology of the Reeb graph
Publicationes Mathematicae DebrecenThe Reeb quotient space $R_f$ of a function $f\from X\to\mathbb{R}$, known as the Reeb graph, can have various properties depending on $X$ and $f$. In the classical case of a smooth function on a closed manifold with a finite number of critical points, $R_f$ has the structure of a finite graph.

Efficient Output-Sensitive Construction of Reeb Graphs
2008The Reeb graph tracks topology changes in level sets of a scalar function and finds applications in scientific visualization and geometric modeling. This paper describes a near-optimal two-step algorithm that constructs the Reeb graph of a Morse function defined over manifolds in any dimension.

Reeb Graphs Through Local Binary Patterns
2015This paper presents an approach to derive critical points of a shape, the basis of a Reeb graph, using a combination of a medial axis skeleton and features along this skeleton. A Reeb graph captures the topology of a shape. The nodes in the graph represent critical points (positions of change in the topology), while edges represent topological ...
