Creditor Rights and Legal Transaction Costs
ABSTRACT I estimate the relationship between increased creditor rights and legal expenditures of debtor corporations by evaluating a securitization law in India allowing secured creditors to seize collateral. The law reduced spending on legal proceedings used by firms to avoid foreclosure, because debt‐related litigation decreased.

Labeled interleaving distance for Reeb graphs
Merge trees, contour trees, and Reeb graphs are graph-based topological descriptors that capture topological changes of (sub)level sets of scalar fields. Comparing scalar fields using their topological descriptors has many applications in topological data analysis and visualization of scientific data.

Caloric restriction (CR) and an ad libitum‐fed low‐protein, high‐carbohydrate, high‐fibre (LPHC) diet both improve longevity and metabolic health relative to a control diet. Liver proteomics revealed CR alone increased proteins associated with mitochondrial pathways and energy metabolism.

Stability of Reeb Graphs of Closed Curves
AbstractReeb graphs are very popular shape descriptors in computational frameworks as they capture both geometrical properties of the shape, and its topological features. Some different methodologies have been proposed in the literature to estimate the similarity of shapes through the comparison of the associated Reeb graphs.

The contact cut graph and a Weinstein L$\mathcal {L}$‐invariant
Abstract We define and study the contact cut graph which is an analogue of Hatcher and Thurston's cut graph for contact geometry, inspired by contact Heegaard splittings (Giroux, Proceedings of the International Congress of Mathematicians, Beijing, 2002; Torisu, Internat. Math. Res. Notices (2000), 441–454).

Floer theory for the variation operator of an isolated singularity
Abstract The variation operator in singularity theory maps relative homology cycles to compact cycles in the Milnor fiber using the monodromy. We construct its symplectic analog for an isolated singularity. We define the monodromy Lagrangian Floer cohomology, which provides categorifications of the standard theorems on the variation operator and the ...

The Performance Effects of Independent Directors: A Large‐Scale Study of Danish New Ventures
ABSTRACT Research Question/Issue This study investigates the effects of independent outside directors on the performance of new venture firms. We also study several factors moderating the relationship between the percentage of independent directors on boards and the new ventures' performance.

Family CEO mentoring and post‐CEO succession performance
Abstract Research Summary While extant research has studied extensively the consequences of chief executive officer (CEO) succession, we explore the concept of family CEO mentoring (from a departing family CEO to a younger family leader) as a potential driver of post‐succession performance in family firms. Drawing on stewardship theory and using a data

Arrange and Traverse Algorithm for Computation of Reeb Spaces of Piecewise Linear Maps
Abstract We present the first combinatorial algorithm for efficiently computing the Reeb space in all dimensions. The Reeb space is a higher‐dimensional generalization of the Reeb graph, which is standard practice in the analysis of scalar fields, along with other computational topology tools such as persistent homology and the Morse‐Smale complex. One
