Stream Cipher by Reed-Solomon Codes

open access: yesAdvances in Science, Technology and Engineering Systems Journal, 2017
Reed-Solomon code or RS code is widely used for error corrections of data in transmission and storages. However, it is thought of as insecure for direct implementation in code-based cryptography due to plaintext-known attacks. In recent years, McEliece cryptosystem with enhanced public key security by generalized RS code and Goppa code are discussed ...

Using the division algorithm to decode Reed-Solomon Codes

open access: yes上海师范大学学报. 自然科学版, 2015
Reed-Solomon codes are some of the most widely used error correcting codes. In this paper we introduce a decoding algorithmwhich utilizes the division algorithm. We develop theory and provide examples to support the algorithm.

Majority‐Voting Overlapping Method for Error Correction in DNA Data Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
We propose an overlapping‐based majority‐voting method for DNA data storage error correction. By aligning multiple reads and choosing the most frequent base per position, it suppresses substitution errors without prior models. Validated on synthetic and real sequencing data, it achieves high‐fidelity, scalable, and cost‐effective reconstruction ...

Integrating habitat suitability, socioeconomics, and infrastructure to assess global biological invasion risk under climate change: A case study of the rice stem borer, Chilo suppressalis

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
We developed an invasion risk index framework that integrates socioeconomic and environmental data using an entropy‐weighting method. The case study highlights the need for region‐specific biosecurity measures for Chilo suppressalis. Abstract BACKGROUND Biological invasion risk is a multifaceted concept that, according to the Food and Agriculture ...

Reed-solomon forward error correction (FEC) schemes, RFC 5510 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This document describes a Fully-Specified Forward Error Correction (FEC) Scheme for the Reed-Solomon FEC codes over GF(2^^m), where m is in {2..16}, and its application to the reliable delivery of data objects on the packet erasure channel (i.e., a ...

Patient‐reported outcomes, postoperative pain and pain relief after day‐case surgery (POPPY): short‐term peri‐operative analgesic use

open access: yesAnaesthesia, EarlyView.
Summary Introduction An increasing proportion of complex surgical procedures are being performed in the UK as day‐cases, with variable and limited follow up. Discharge prescriptions must provide adequate analgesia, while considering the safety of the patient and public, following best practice guidance and good opioid stewardship.

Restoration and rehabilitation of floodplain wetlands: a systematic, global review of restoration options and their outcomes

open access: yesRestoration Ecology, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction Floodplain wetlands are vitally important, highly productive, and biodiverse ecosystems. Species dependent on them are facing a range of threats including water extraction, habitat degradation, invasive species, and shifting climates.

Codes de Reed-Solomon-Gabidulin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We introduce Reed-Solomon-Gabidulin codes which is, at the same time, an extension to Reed-Solomon codes on the one hand and Gabidulin codes on the other hand.

Positive Reframing of Psychosis Risk Reduces Social Stigma and Desire for Social Distance Among Adolescents: Moderating Roles of Prodromal Experiences, Sex, and Culture

open access: yesEarly Intervention in Psychiatry, Volume 20, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Communication about the at‐risk mental state may shape not only clinical understanding but also peer‐directed social evaluations. Prior work from our group has shown that positively reframing psychosis‐risk feedback reduces perceived emotional harm and clinician stigma.
