Convolutional Reed-Solomon Codes
Bell System Technical Journal, 1969We derive a new family of convolutional character-error-correcting codes which are a convolutional form of the Reed-Solomon block codes and as such have nonbinary symbols. We also derive a bound on the error correcting capabilities of these codes in which the error-correcting capability per constraint length grows approximately with the square root of ...

In December of 1958 I. S. Reed and G. Solomon finished the report, entitled “polynomial codes over certain finite fields” at the M.I.T Lincoln Laboratory [1]. In 1960, a slight modification of this report was published as a paper [2] in the Journal of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics(SIAM).
