Arrival time valuation of commuters in urban rail transit

open access: yesTransport, 2019
Departure time choice of commuters is one of key decisions affecting the crowding of urban rail transit network during peak hours. It is influenced by arrival time value, the additional psychological pressure caused by in-vehicle crowding, and time ...

Exogenous Endowment—Endogenous Reference Point

open access: yesEconomic Journal, 2019
We develop a model in the presence of categories that creates a link between the agent’s exogenous endowment and an endogenous reference point. The reference point is the best feasible alternative in the endowment’s category. This reference generates a

Parent‐to‐Child Information Disclosure in Pediatric Oncology

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Despite professional consensus regarding the importance of open communication with pediatric cancer patients about their disease, actual practice patterns of disclosure are understudied. Extant literature suggests a significant proportion of children are not told about their diagnosis/prognosis, which is purported to negatively ...

Measuring the Deflection of the Vertical via Local Reference Point Surveying and Pointing Calibration of a VLBI Telescope: A Case Study at the Urumqi Station

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, 2021
According to Newton's law of universal gravitation, the movement of matter and the change in density cause a gravitational variation. Due to the anisotropic distribution of matter, the vertical and the normal directions at a point on the ground are ...

Predicting Chronicity in Children and Adolescents With Newly Diagnosed Immune Thrombocytopenia at the Timepoint of Diagnosis Using Machine Learning‐Based Approaches

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To identify predictors of chronic ITP (cITP) and to develop a model based on several machine learning (ML) methods to estimate the individual risk of chronicity at the timepoint of diagnosis. Methods We analyzed a longitudinal cohort of 944 children enrolled in the Intercontinental Cooperative immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) Study ...

A Systematic Review of Evidence on the Clinical Effectiveness of Surveillance Imaging in Children With Medulloblastoma and Ependymoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Surveillance imaging aims to detect tumour relapse before symptoms develop, but it's unclear whether earlier detection of relapse leads to better outcomes in children and young people (CYP) with medulloblastoma and ependymoma. This systematic review aims to identify relevant literature to determine the efficacy of surveillance magnetic ...

Pathogenic Germline PALB2 and RAD50 Variants in Patients With Relapsed Ewing Sarcoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Approximately 10% of patients with Ewing sarcoma (EwS) have pathogenic germline variants. Here, we report two cases: first, a novel germline pathogenic variant in partner and localizer of BRCA2 (PALB2) in a patient with a late EwS relapse. Its impact on homologous recombination is demonstrated, and breast cancer risk is discussed.
