Bayesian Testing of a Point Null Hypothesis Based on the Latent Information Prior
Bayesian testing of a point null hypothesis is considered. The null hypothesisis that an observation, x, is distributed according to the normal distribution with a mean ofzero and known variance q2.

Multi-Reference Shape Priors for Active Contours [PDF]
In this paper, we present a new way of constraining the evolution of an active contour with respect to a set of fixed reference shapes. This approach is based on a description of shapes by the Legendre moments computed from their characteristic function. This provides a region-based representation that can handle arbitrary shape topologies.

Bayesian analysis of series system with dependent causes of failure
Most studies of series system assume the causes of failure are independent, which may not hold in practice. In this paper, dependent causes of failure are considered by using a Marshall–Olkin bivariate Weibull distribution.

Browsing while reading: effects of instructional design and learners' prior knowledge [PDF]
One of the key reasons that multimedia, and particularly hypertext systems, are gaining in importance is that they inspire hopes of optimizing learners' processes of knowledge construction.

The Cosine Error: A Bayesian Procedure for Treating a Non-repetitive Systematic Effect
An inconsistency with respect to variable transformations in our previous treatment of the cosine error example with repositioning (Metrologia, vol. 47, pp. R1–R14) is pointed out.

The Wiener process as a degradation model plays an important role in the degradation analysis. In this paper, we propose an objective Bayesian analysis for an acceleration degradation Wiener model which is subjected to measurement errors.
