A-g Reference Informative Prior: A Note on Zellner's g Prior

The Statistician, 1988
We consider a normal regression model and propose a natural conjugate reference informa- tive prior for the parameters, which takes into account different degrees of certainty about the different independent variables. In many applied problems, it is very important to assess a prior density function for the parameters of the model which is as ...

Implications of Reference Priors for Prior Information and for Sample Size

Journal of the American Statistical Association, 1996
Abstract Here we use posterior densities based on relative entropy reference priors for two purposes. The first purpose is to identify data implicit in the use of informative priors. We represent an informative prior as the posterior from an experiment with a known likelihood and a reference prior.

Reference guided CS-MRI with gradient orientation priors

2015 37th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC), 2015
The theory of Compressed sensing (CS) provides a systematic framework for MR image reconstruction from under-sampled k-space data. However, severe aliasing artifacts still occurs in the case of high acceleration. Thereupon, an extensive body of works investigates exploiting additional prior information extracted from a reference image which can be ...

Ordered Group Reference Priors with Application to the Multinomial Problem

Biometrika, 1992
An algorithm is described for obtaining noninformative priors in the multiparameter case using the reference prior approach in the presence of nuisance parameters. It is suggested that the parameters are grouped and ordered according to their (inferential) importance.

Reference priors in multiparameter nonregular cases

Test, 1997
A reference prior is suggested in some multiparameter non-regular cases. It is based on an asymptotic expansion of Lindley's measure of information [\textit{D. V. Lindley}, Ann. Math. Statistics 27, 986-1005 (1956; Zbl 0073.14103)] which is the expected Kullback-Leibler divergence between the posterior and prior.

Reference Priors in a Variance Components Problem

1992
The ordered group reference prior algorithm of Berger and Bernardo (1989b) is applied to the balanced variance components problem. Besides the intrinsic interest of developing good noninformative priors for the variance components problem, a number of theoretically interesting issues arise in application of the proposed procedure.

Reference priors for Bayesian fisheries models

Canadian Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, 2002
Bayesian models require the specification of prior distributions for all unknown parameters, and this formal utilization of prior knowledge (if any) can be used to great advantage in some fisheries. However, regardless of whether prior knowledge about model parameters is available, specification of prior distributions is seldom unequivocal.
