A causal modelling framework for reference-based imputation and tipping point analysis [PDF]
We consider estimating the "de facto" or effectiveness estimand in a randomised placebo-controlled or standard-of-care-controlled drug trial with quantitative outcome, where participants who discontinue an investigational treatment are not followed up thereafter.

In this explorative biomarker analysis, we assessed serial sampling of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) with CellSearch in two randomized trials testing immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in metastatic breast cancer. Our data demonstrate a prognostic potential of CTCs, most apparent 4 weeks into ICI therapy.

SerialGen: Personalized Image Generation by First Standardization Then Personalization [PDF]
In this work, we are interested in achieving both high text controllability and whole-body appearance consistency in the generation of personalized human characters. We propose a novel framework, named SerialGen, which is a serial generation method consisting of two stages: first, a standardization stage that standardizes reference images, and then a ...

Restate the reference for EEG microstate analysis [PDF]
Despite the decades of efforts, the choice of EEG reference is still a debated fundamental issue. Non-neutral reference can inevitably inject the uncontrolled temporal biases into all EEG recordings, which may influence the spatiotemporal analysis of brain activity.

Circulating tumor cells: advancing personalized therapy in small cell lung cancer patients
Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is an aggressive form of lung cancer that spreads rapidly to secondary sites such as the brain and liver. Cancer cells circulating in the blood, “circulating tumor cells” (CTCs), have demonstrated prognostic value in SCLC, and evaluating biomarkers on CTCs could guide treatment decisions such as for PARP inhibitors ...

REFeREE: A REference-FREE Model-Based Metric for Text Simplification [PDF]
Text simplification lacks a universal standard of quality, and annotated reference simplifications are scarce and costly. We propose to alleviate such limitations by introducing REFeREE, a reference-free model-based metric with a 3-stage curriculum. REFeREE leverages an arbitrarily scalable pretraining stage and can be applied to any quality standard ...

EXmatcher: Combining Features Based on Reference Strings and Segments to Enhance Citation Matching [PDF]
Citation matching is a challenging task due to different problems such as the variety of citation styles, mistakes in reference strings and the quality of identified reference segments. The classic citation matching configuration used in this paper is the combination of blocking technique and a binary classifier.

A comparative study of circulating tumor cell isolation and enumeration technologies in lung cancer
Lung cancer cells were spiked into donor blood to evaluate the recovery rates of the following circulating tumor cell (CTC) enrichment technologies: CellMag™, EasySep™, RosetteSep™, Parsortix® PR1, and Parsortix® Prototype systems. Each method's advantages and disadvantages are described.
